Good managars like Wenger, Curbishley, Redknapp, Ferguson (up to the last few years) had a great record of buying and selling, even though they all had a few disasters.

has Houllier/Evans/Souness sold any player at a proft, barring players that came through the ranks?

No because when you buy class you don't sell it unless it can be avoided.

Hyypia could have gone for as much as £15m a few seasons ago. After the treble season you'd probably have got about £6m for Babbel aswell, we've been offered £6-7m (suposedly) for Riise aswell.

I believe we need to look into selling players who do not contribute to the growth of the team. My pick Biscan and La Tellec.!!

its too early to get rid of la tellec but

Heskey, Smicer, Diao, Diaof, Cheyrou & Biscan should all go for whatever we can get, maybe Hammann & Murphy if we get good money for them (£4m each?)

Those 8 players probably get paid about £15m a year between them

I don't agree with the comment about big clubs don't sell at a profit, look at Wengers deals on Anelka, Petit, Overmars and Manu made good money on Ince, Dublin,Kanchelskis,Hughes, not to mention the £25 million they got for Beckham (most overrated player in history)after poaching him from Spurs.
