can anyone recommend blank dvdr -/+ AND dvdrw -/+ either will do. just must be the mutts nuts.

ive tried maxell = very good results
            tdk = very good
            verbatim = very good

all these three are good (enough) but they are costly.
has anyone experience of... widely available/cheap/efficient blanks that they wouldnt hesitate to buy again in bulk?

thank-you.

forgot to mention.. my pc rewrites in DVD -RW format
                          my player plays DUAL format

i realise this might make it obvious to those who know the ins and out.

I tend to find the +RW format to be the best as I find I can edit them on my sony recorder (i.e. cut out adverts) without the need for computer software. If the +RW format is aby good to you then Aldi regularly have packs of 5 RW (Tevion) discs for about £3.99, i've had a few boxes of them and they're pretty good.
Also there is a very good website that carries all types of discs at very reasonable prices so try: DVD's Online

HAppy recording  :p

it all depends on what recorder you have.I had my own business selling blank media and dvd -r were always the most popular and cheaper when dvd writers and recorders came out.
I've just had a sharp dvd recorder for under the tv which takes dvd rw-r and record once dvd-r,but on my computer i have a pioneer A04 dvd writer which takes dvd +r.
To solve all media problems there are models out there that are dual compatible and take either.Quality wise i cant say i've noticed much difference.

oh.......i also rate verbs.........

but if buying in bulk Datawrite or Datasafe are the best value / quality ratio.

If your DVD supports dual layer, get those: twice the storage (about 8.5 gigs or 6-8 hours of video) than a normal DVD. Very expensive though.

I just bought a spindle of 100 cheap DVD-r's from PCWorld - I think it was £21, burning using a Sony 8x burner - haven't had a failure yet (used about 20 of them).  When burning video, I never use the  complete DVD - I burn about 4Gb of video (including menus etc).  I found, even with Verbatim DVDs, that I got errors at the end of movies. Since changing stategies, I haven't had any problems.
