Why did we buy him if and then only to loan him out immediately? What was Houllier thinking of?

He was young and we had sufficient players for that position I believe, loan was best option at the time, although probably becasue Salif was around at this point

He made it clear he didnt want to come back to Liverpool I think as he was more than happy at Lens

Also we got him for free

Oh well.

Let them pay £5m for our reject.
It seems to me like Alou's attitude was all wrong at LFC, and at Lens he's probably regarded as their best player and as such, given more slack.

Just an opinion, mind. Not fact!!!!!

Is it just me or is every player that has a passing resemblance to viera is suddenly labelled 'THE NEW PATRICK VIEIRA.' I saw a france game that diarra played in a couple of months back and TBH he ain't nothin' special and is not even as good as MOMO.
