Mellor, le tallec, traore, potter, francis smith.. - All on there way to hearts?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Heartssupporter » Thu Jan 05, 2006 11:52 am

Hello, I am a hearts fan living up in Edinburgh.  I thought I would bring this to your attention and see what your thoughts are?

http://jamboskickback.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=29749&st=0

It has been reported for a number of weeks now that Hearts have a agreed a fee for your young midfield player Darren Potter (750k is the fee bing talked about - a bit steep is it not for a reserve player) and will also be taking young midfielder Francis Smith on a free.

As you may or may not know Hearts are now owned by Lithuanian Bank owner Vladimir Romanov (also the owner of FC Kanus) and he treats us like a hobby picking all out transfer targets himself, sacking anyone who doesn't agree with him etc.

It has been widely reported in the Scottish media that Romanov struck up a good friendship with RIck Parry during FC Kanus's clashes with Liverpool earlier in the season (which is apperently where he saw Potter play and was impressed enough to shell out 750K for him).

In the Daily Record this morning Hearts are now being linked with Neil Mellor, Anthony Le Tallec, and Djimi Traore (unsure if they are supposed to be loan deals or permanent signings.

I was hoping you could give me you opinion on all of the above five players?  What position do they play, are they any good, how much money per week do you think they are on at present, are any of there contracts likely to run out? etc.

Thanks for your time, I will post a link to this forum on the hearts fans forum site.

Here's to our new future together...

I think you will make an agreeable feeder club for us!

Neil Mellor - Looks like a chubby stevie g... not a bad little striker if played in the right team, he will never cracka  first team place at lfc but hes come up with some important goals. also had one of the best reserves records i think

anthony le tallec - dont think hes suited to scottish football. hed score goals for you but for us he was a little light weight but has done ok for sunderland. i think he will be going back to france.

Traore - i honestly think hed be a good buy for you. he is a pretty stable defender and with the pace of scottish football hed be a good aquisition

I think Mellor would do very well in Scotland, as will Potter and Traore. All those 3 would definitely improve Hearts.

I think Mellor would get 20 goals a season in scotland, if Hartoson can it should be a doddle for him.

Oh and ill 2nd you taking Diao as well  :D

Strangely Traore is one of the ones i'm more happy with, i think he'd do great up here. Right back is one of the positions we've had most criticism in and Traore looks like a decent player any time he's played for you just he seems to struggle with the pace, pretty much like how Boumsong has only hes not that :censored:  :D  and even he looked half decent up here.

Traore, even though I slag him off, would be a good acquisition.
Mellor would do OK, no pace though.

Not sure if Potter has any stand-out qualities.
Never heard of Smith.

Le Tallec would probably do best, he's an attacking midfielder.
