gotta say im with JBG and RMG on this (just had a thought)
i dont liek seeing anyone having there career put at threat by a  tackle. i wanna beast chelsea with essien on the pitch, not with a leg in plaster.

was funny when it happened though, based on the irony of it all

Im not going to cheer that sort of challenge out of spite but i will say what goes around comes around especially in football. Some of the Hammers must have been watching our CL game with them that night. lol

Jim Beglin - one of our own players - never recovered from Gary Steven's tackle. Toni Schumacher's tackle against the French forward in the 1982 World Cup almost killed that player.

Essien was playing a dangerous game and a bad tackle from Reo Coker won't stop him going around hacking guys in the future: if anything it'll make him worse. The only solution is a severe suspension from the FA and his manager to sort him out.

As i said in the granny situation mate, no sympathy at all. If his tackles on Hamann, Ben Haim and Lauren were accidental and he didn't mean to amputate their legs then i'd have more sympathy, but the fact is the three of them were NO ATTEMPT at playing the ball and could have ended any one of those three players careers.

Reo-Coker's was a genuine late attempt at playing the ball and he caught Essien. He didn't try to hurt him, i'm just glad he did as scum like that only understand one type of language.

Its called justice, the only injustice is the fact the injury wasn't more serious to stop him playing permanently as he is the sort of player who will seriously injure other players throughout his career.

He is a disgrace to the game and HAS to calm down.

spot on, but because Essien is such a scumbag I fear a Roy Keane - Haaland type retribution when Chelsea play West Ham again. It might be even worth not playing Reo Coker cos Essien will be out to hurt him no doubt. If Essien were to end a guys careers like that I think he should be banned for life TBH, especially such a young talent like Reo Coker.

I can see people's opinion that say there should be no tackles like that in football, but at the end of the day Reo coker has probably seen Essien making sickening career threatening tackled twice this season..realised he is directly against him and thought to himself...i'll do him before he does the same to me.
I have no sympathy for Essien he has been due a tackle like that.
