4th spot - Not telling real story.

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The only reason we are in 4th is beacuse of the lack of form of teams around us in the table. If we had 50 pts at the same point in the season last year we would be 7th, behind Blackburn and Everton! This shows that 4th spot is an even larger failure this season than it appears even if we do win our 4 remaning matches.

It is also obvious since MU, Ars and Chelski shares the biggest cakes.

i can't believe we are STILL 4th. results are definitely falling for us at the moment. it's almost as if nobody wants to finish 4th. lucky for us that we play man u next week but newcastle play chelsea. we'll still probably be fourth even if we lose.

yeah in previous seasons if you were 30m points behind the team in first you were most likely relegated. it's a joke.

Does the league table show an improvment in the lower teams or backward slide from mid table teams??

the lower teams certainly aren't doing as well as last season, when west ham went down with 42 points. they'd be pushing for a uefa cup spot at the moment with that points total.

"...Gerard Houllier will scarcely be able to believe his eyes when he analyses the league table in his Melwood office this morning and sees his team still clinging on to fourth place..."

JUST A REAL JOKE

I have this recurring nightmare. We're level on points with newcastle, ahead on goal difference going into the last game. It's a cr#p game with neither team wanting to push forward, it ends in a draw and the reds finish ahead on goals but finish 5th to Villa who win there last game.

After so many unfortunate games, we may expect or deserve a happy ending.. :)
