Who said what about ciise ? - He scores...

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Its been astonishing reading bad reviews about Ciise. Some even said he should be off.  Whereas other condemned him for not scoring. Ciise needs time to score. Playing him at 80th minute is actually wasting his talents.

Now see....he had scored, when the second half came.

I still believe, he is better than Morientes. Only thing is he was a little bit worried of his position in World Cup. That created the drama.

He has alot to prove. Rafa commented on his performance, the speed that he has. He even wants to pair Ciise and Crouch for the different skill the dou can provide for the club.

Go Ciise :buttrock

One goal and you're now praising him as if our 14 million was well spent?

Don't get me wrong, it was a really good run and a deadly finish, but I am not jumping into conclusions yet.

I personally am a big fan of Cisse. He has undoubted ability and if we sell him I am certain he will go on to become a real super star. He has pace, skill and can finish as well as anyone...the problem is...well here is where I fall down...I don't know what the problem is!! He works hard and has a pretty good work ethic, he is dedicated and proved this by coming back after his injury last season to star in Istanbul.
From what I can see it seems that Rafa is just not as impressed with him as I am....and lets face it Rafa's judement means a f**k of a lot more thatn mine does!! haha!! Maybe he isn't so hot in training, maybe Rafa wants something different from his strikers, maybe they have had a falling out, I don't know but if Cisse doesn't start getting some serious game time he will not show us what he can do and he will leave. I'd like to see him given a real crack before that happens but we'll see.

I still rate cisse very highly. he is a very talented player. Cisse either doesnt play in games, comes on in the 80th minute or plays on the right wing. he never gets a chance to show his talent to anybody. How can you call cisse rubbish when we dont get the chance to see what he can do? He got his first start in i dont know how long today and he scored from it. If we give him a chance we can see what he can do

this thread deserves more posts...i must admit im guilty of puting cisse to the wolves lately  but only because i know what abillity he has, he just hasen,t managed to cut it in the premiership yet but in not convinced that he is in rafas long term plans  but i could be wrong...i was delighed when cisse scored because that was not the kind of goal that anyone would have scored it was fecking brilliant  :;):

In recnt games I've seen Cissé improving as part of the team. If he can keep this up I think he'll become an important first team member. His pace is a vital alternative we have right now and if his finishing and team play improved a bit more I think he'd be indispensible to our squad

I think Rafa's system of rotating the team to suit the opponent has taken all of us somewhat by surprise.  Gone are the days when you'd see Rush or Fowler or Owen starting every game.  In light of this strategic change, it's probably going to take the players a while to adjust too - perhaps if you're a striker cou.nting on a run of 4 or 5 games to get your eye in and find some form you're going to be disappointed at Liverpool these days.

As fans we may be guilty of judging players too harshly given the system -  Cisse for example has upset many (me included) with his petulant antics and sulky nature but this may be just his way of handling his frustration at this system.  By that I mean (and excuse the stereotyping) that the French are known to be highly strung, emotionally 'loud' players take Anelka for example.  Perhaps if we cut our forward line some slack it may lift some of the pressure they feel and result in more goals all round.  Look how prolific Crouch has become once that first goal went in and the armchair critics silenced.

Looking at Cisse's strike rate of 14 goals from 44 shots he's actually doing pretty well.

On balance, I'm for keeping him and spending our money on a right winger and cover for our defence.  I just hope Cisse appreciates the benefits of Rafa's system and has the patience to work with it.

Forgot to add that I really envy you guys who get to go to the games.  Watching on TV from the other side of the world we obviously miss a lot of what goes on off the ball and out of view of the cameras.

no $hit sherlock
of course its down to rafa, but rafa wont sell cisse, theres no point. Cisse wants to play for liverpool and we have got a shedload of games coming up. We need cisse. And he is improving recently and is a much less selfish player than he was when he first joined

My thinking is not score dependant. I don't know if CIsse is better than Morientes, they're different, but I know the team has more benefit from the game of Morientes than Cisse's.

If you asked Crouch who'd want to his side, he'd pick Morientes. If you don't appreciate the play of Morientes against Newcastle, even with a goal (and red card it should have been), then we don't appreciate the same kind of football.

Cisse is the man who should get alot more starts for us
Morientes has been great in the past
but he aint doing it now for us
As for asking Crouch
I don't think he would mind who he plays with, as the manager and (most of) the fans stood by him when he wasnt producing.

i dont think crouch would say that now. morientez has a better footballing mind but cisse has the aggression and pace. all 3 strikers should be kept as they all add something different
