Well, there are THREE occasions for a sponsorless shirt:

1. FA Youth Cup in the 1990s - maybe due to Alchoholic sponsorships violates the proper lifestyle of youngsters

2. Friendly/UEFA competitions played in France and Norway - these two domiciles limit the live-broadcasting with alchoholic sponsors according to their by-laws.

(1999-2000 pre-season friendly against Norway team)

(2002-03 UEFA Cup away match against Auxerre of France)

(2004-05 UEFA Cup away match against Marseille of France)

3. Rivalry of commercial sponsorships - the Amsterdam Touraument 2003 sponsored by Amstel lager, and thus no Carlsberg can be added.
