ok everyone

today is the first aniversary of the tsunami that devastated so many lives last year and continues to devastate lives today.

not being religious im not going down the avenue of saying prayers etc, however as i live in asia and have seen personally some of the devastation caused one year ago i just want to remember the people who died.

usually im quite selfish in this and dont really let it affect me when there is a disaster some where else in the world but i have seen the devastation caused to lives.

i try to imagiine the confusion what was happening and the terror people must have felt as they saw loved ones swept away. I have sat on one the beaches affected and have tried to picture the water coming in, but im picturing it with hindsight. try to picture yourself on holiday and the next minute total chaos and not knowing what was happening.

anyway just offer up a thought

yes phil, i just watched a remeberance service from phuket on Thai TV, it seemed a lot of western families had made the journey there today to remember loved ones. it was quite moving to be honest.

I'm in Australia and having that kind of proximaty to SE Asia really made us take notice. Its a pity that corrupt governements like Indonesia prevent aid from being distributed properly.
