I think this was a poular myth.Fowler stated in his book he never had any problems with Owen.If a player does have problems with a team mate he should be profesional enough
to not let it effect his game.
I dont believe everthing I read in books, but if you believe half of whats in Fowlers, the previous management were definately to blame.

Owen's pace, agility, strength and Balance were superior to Fowlers quite considerably.
Overall Owen was the better player.

Fowler often slipped over, was often sloppy in possession and was quite poor in terms of hold up play.

Lets hope you copied and pasted this from somewhere without actually reading it. I'm sorry I can't just stand idle reading this codswallop.

No, I do remember Owen's departure was not the best. But while in Madrid, he publicly stated that his first option was coming to Liverpool, he even rejected Newcastle once. Or he was a liar, or him not being in Anfield was not his will

I applauded him even in Real Madrid, goot attitude, no diving, class striker.

ive read fowlers book aswell, and he sounded genuine about his relationship with Michael Owen, they probably wernt best mates but i very much doubt fowler disliked him. In the book Fowler said that Owen was one of the few pro footballers at his wedding, i doubt he would invite someone to his wedding he didnt like!

They didnt play together as it was quite obvious that Houllier didnt like Fowler and prefered Heskey, which is absoulte madness IMO.

I will clap him for the memories but I can fully understand rafas point of view
If I dwelt to long on the way he strung the club along over signing a new contract just to leave us at the worst possible time Id proberly keep my hands in my pockets on boxing day
I think it will be a very mixed reception

True.

There will probably be more cheers than anything else, but depends how you look at it, people will have different views.

The only reason Owen carried LFC is because the entire team was set up to give him the chances he thrives on.

We truely were a one-man-team back then.

Owen is a bag of sh*te, p*ssing on the team that gave him his breaks. He was a legend here, went to Real, and hardly got a game. Yes he has ability, and yes he's a good player. His loyalty is bottom drawer, though.

To even suggest that a top-of-his-game Owen is anywhere near a likewise Fowler is laughable.
Robbie could turn a match with a goal Owen would never even dream of trying. If Houllier had given Fowler the chances he deserved, instead of constantly dropping him after he scored match-winning-goals, we would still have the best English finisher of the modern era.
The lad was consistantly scoring 30-odd goals a season (many marred by injury), and yet that French tw*t prefered to play the lumbering pile of donkey-sh*te Heskey. (To create more openings for darling Owen.)
Owen never scored 30 in a season, despite his lightening pace.

If we want to look at stats, try this one on for size:

Fowler - quickest 100 goals in LFC history (165 games), beating Rush, Hunt and Owen.

If it wasn't for that w*nker Thomas Myhre, Fowler would have been rightfully regarded as the best striker in English history. The impact he had was bigger than any b*llocks by Owen, Spooney, Sh*trer.

Fowler has more ability in his left-knacker than Owen has in his entire body.

Stop living in the past.

Owen is a Newcastle player. He is no different to McManaman

We will win 4-1. Morientes will score 2.

So one of our best ever players isn't a legend because he wasn't fortunate to play in a great side. You wouldn't argue that Fowler was a legend though Neil?

Get a grip lad.

Both of them are Liverpool legends.

Owen is'nt fit to lace Fowlers boots.

YOU need to get a grip son, constantly in everyones face. If you really do live in Ramsey Close I'd expect a bit ov a spookin the way you carry on.

Owen was a far better player than Fowler. Anyone who knows about football will back that up.

Fowler was never even in the top 5 or 6 strikers in the world at any point in his career. Fowler also never won a european player of the year award. Fowler never had the attitude or alround game to touch Owen and he certainly couldn't rip sides to shreds on his own.

As a goalscorer, Fowler had ALOT more in his locker, left foot, right foot, power, placement, headers, volleys, chips, lobs, long distance, 2 yards, in of his nose. He wasn't however as clinical as Owen or as good in alround circumstances.

Stop acting a cock and making threats on the internet. I'm not scared and it isn't impressive.

The best judge of who was the better player are the supporters, not the awards.

Go on the street and ask anyone. You'll get 5-1 that will say Fowler was the better striker.

And Fowler never cared as much about playing internationals than he did for us. Owen cares most about internationals. Thats why Rafa didnt buy him back.

Fowler for me.

That's exactly what he was.

Gets right up me when ppl call him a legend. Rush was a legend. Dalglish was a legend.

Owen never won us the double, nor the European Cup.

Lando you sad sack, I'm sure Micky will be devestated when he hears YOU booing him. I bet if they interview him after the game he breaks down blubbering saying he can't believe that Lando booed him - you fking xmas turkey! I hate people like you...

"Im gonna boo him cos he screwed us... arp arp arp!"

Change the record!

and this goes to all of you spineless, fickle bunch of itchy scabs...    GET OVER IT! HE LEFT LIVERPOOL TO CONTINUE HIS CAREER WITH ANOTHER CLUB!

....so did Kenny Dalglish, do we boo him?

Kenny Dalglish won everything you could possibly win in football with our club. Owen won nothing of note.

Comparing the 2 makes you seem very young and naive
