Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I watched Sau Paulo in the final of the Copa Libertadores in the first leg, and they played well. It won't be an easy match, but some of the Sau Paulo fans obviously think that only Sau Paulo can raise their game in an important match

However on sunday you will lose.  :rasp

Sorry..... :buttrock

Milan's couch said in World Club Championship 1993/Toyota Cup: "We were defeated by the best team in the world".

Hope to hear the same thing from Rafa Benitez on Sunday morning.

Corinthians are the only FIFA sanctioned World Champions,a title they won in the year 2000.The mickey mouse friendly match you won doesnt count.

Fifa.com > "World Club Championship" > "Previous WINNERS" > "SÃO PAULO" (which has conquested the World twice).

Check for yourself. You can ask me if you have any doubt to access the Fifa webpage.  :buttrock

THE MICHEY MOUSE CUP was the one in Brazil (2000). It had no criteria, and the winner, corinthians has never been South America champions (Libertadores Cup). How could it be in a World Club Championship? LOL

-World Club Championship 2000 - FAKE!
-World Champion 2000 - BOCA JUNIOR that defeated Real Madrid.

"They're big, they're strong", goes the São Paulo club anthem, and the words never seemed more appropriate[...]"FIFA.com

Ooooo they can be determined... but I can garantee you they are not as determined as OUR players....

You technically can not guarantee me that, because you don't know the players personaly to make that judgement. How determined they are,we'll see. But experience of tough matches will help us.

We knocked out Juventus in 180 minutes, and we knocked out Chelsea in the same amount of time [2 legs, legs meaning games if you're wondering].

Nobody's saying your team is trash.. it sure isn't...
To me is Top 3 in the world today. But that final WAS a strike of luck. Kaka was HAMMERING you guys in the 1st half... but that awful Dida did his magic :veryangry ..... (by the way... Kaka was a Sao Paulo Player.. so for you guys that think that Sao Paulo has nothing, prepare..)

And in the final against Sao Paulo, I hope you are not that lucky again!  :grinning:

It takes somekind of luck to win every cup. You need to have it at least a little bit to win such a competition. They were hammering us, but you see because they celebrated in their lockerooms at half-time they weren't taking us seriously in the second-half. We were determined to score the first goal, and we did. After we did that, Milan lost themselves. Then came the second and third.

In extra time, defenders like Carragher went to their limits to stop Milan from scoring. Didi Hamann was playing with a :censored: broken foot, and he scored a penalty as well.

Completely agree with you.. I saw that final and was in awe!!! One of the best football matches I've ever seen in my life... but you see.. the same determination you guys had in 2nd half and undercommitment AC Milan had is what's going to happen on sunday... but we are going to be the determined ones...

Let's hope it can win us the title... But again.. if you guys play with the same lack of interest you played the 2nd half of today, you will lose SURELY!

Sao Paulo is not the best team in South America for no reason...
Granted; you have a better team then we do (specially your defense and Gerrard x Danilo), but we have faced "better teams" a LOT this year.... always won.. again, our team GROWS on decisions.. you'll see!

name the teams you played this year that are better than chelsea arsenal juventus man united ac milan bayer leverkusen monaco etc etc etc . ps are you brazil best comedian!

Perhaps we didn't won a game with a harder team than you guys have, but that's because there are NONE in South America... but it's a common sense in South America that a lot of your "top" clubs wouldn't win any of our leagues here and our top clubs would in the main leagues in there...

Anyways... let's wait sunday!
I think you guys are obvious favorites (even because of the teams you've beaten this year).... but your favoritism ends when the ref blows his whistle!

And I'm a good comedian, though I'm not joking in these posts.... not as good a comedian as Mr. Bean anyways

Could be, could be....
let's wait for sunday!   :eyebrow
No point in arguing the future... I was just trying to tell you we are at the same game as you are for a reason! We are NOT a bad club!

Strangely enough it was probably a stronger tournament then this years one.Two European teams and Two South Americans attest to that.Btw Champions League winners Manchester United were there and got knocked out in the first round.Corinthians were the first and (till this Sunday) last Champions of the world.

Corinthians trophy in 2000 can't be contempted as Sãopaulinos are saying, this is an unbiased thinking of a rival fan. BTW, the honours of São Paulo in 92 and 93 are not "Mickey Mouse friendly matches", they're great glories, of a technically "intercontinental" championship, but it can be considered as a Worldwide championship, even by FIFA, as they say in their website.

Nope.. just saying that he is a TERRIBLE keeper and he ALWAYS does those stupid things (I guess he failed at the 1st or third goal.. can't remember) in important matches...

It's because of HIM that I don't believe Brazil will win 2006's World Cup!!

He's just plain AWFUL!

Isn't he the one who made 3 saves in the penalty shoot out against Juventus in 2003 Champions League?

Liverpool refused to play in the 1977 and 1978 Intercontinental friendly match because it wasnt a FIFA sanctioned trophy. It was just a long haul friendly match. They decided to play in 1981 and 1984 because they were offered a vast amount of money by Toyota to play.FIFA can rewrite the rules now if they want, but that trophy you won certainly didnt make you World Champions.Win on Sunday though, and you can certainly claim that title.

I can explain why the Sãopaulinos doesn't aprove Dida.

When he was playing at Corinthians, in the end of the 90's, his saves in penalties desqualified São Paulo in Brazilian league and in the State league.

I can't remember in wich, but in one of those matches he saved 2 shots from Raí.  :D

Ok.. you think it's a personal issue... but answer me this... (I think you're brazilian)...

Are you safe with Dida being our main keeper (remember, for instance, Inter vs Milan's last match)...

If you are, good for you, I'M CERTAINLY NOT!
