Commentary - Andy gray " ho ho hoo, you beauty!"

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

As a fan of good commentary, i thought it a good idea to think back and try to remember some of my favs. Like today i heard Andy Grays hysterics at Stevie G thrashing our third past Olympiacos, you know, " what a hit, what a hit son" or the infamous " Game well and truly over, and i hate saying that" yeah right.
dunno whether im the only one who when listens to these back gets the hairs on the back of my neck standing up or what. Maybe its just me!

Andy Gray???

Andy Gray is a blue nosed :censored:. Makes me sick how biased he is. I heard him ag Boro on the weekend. Reina was lucky to save that. Morientes was offside.

He is the most biased commentator against LFC on Sky. If he'd been on against Chelsea, he would have said there was nothin in the Essien tackle.

Wasnt he on the 1st leg saying that it wasnt a penalty when Gallas handled. He makes me sick.

Watching that Champions Of Europe DVD makes the hairs on my back stand on end. Just amazing, from the heroics against olympiakos at anfield to AC milan in Istanbull.

Thank God. I thought I was the only one that noticed the bias of the bluenose.

I dont normally get involved in the "anti Liverpool" paranoia but Saturday was just unbelievable. As you say bad miss by Viduka, offside goal, Rigott should not have been sent off, terrible defending for first goal, it just went on and on.

Gray is a cnut!

I watched the Boro game with the crowd noise only on Sky and the Man U / Everton with the Fan zone commentary to hear them whine lol.

I also cant stand the biased, cliched commentary from the man Sky would have you believe is the worlds expert on the game.  I cant even stand his voice anymore and im a Scot!

Can anyone actually think of a good commentator in football at the moment 'cos i can't, they're all cr@p in my book and i'd sooner listen to good old Aldo on radiocity if it weren't about 10-20 seconds ahead of the tv pictures.

I have never heard Aldo speak or commentate. here in my parts of the world, we only get who the live master broadcaster send to us and that is Sky and it is preceeded and succeeded by the region's Singapore studio host who invites 2 pundits comprising former players or present English coaches who work in Singapore.

A regular pundit is Paul Maclesfield or Jamie Reeves (both English but I don't know where they played before they become coaches in Singapore) or Serbegeth Singh (a Malaysian former international whos speaks quite well for a former Asian footballer) and occassionally we'd have Sir Bobby Robson, Rushie, Steve McMahon, Les Ferdinand with a live cross over with Gerry Armstrong.

About the time before I left England in the 1990s, Alan Hansen just retired and his then style of straight to the chase comments were refreshing, but now some of the forum members have said that he has become a Chelski praising pundit - can't say much because I haven't seen much of him.
