Man utd jealous of chelsea - (this is about liverpool)

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

ok, saw this on bbc sport so read it, ive pasted about half of it, then i got alittle rant...

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says he is jealous of Chelsea's defence after seeing his side held to a 1-1 draw at home by Everton.
United are 12 points behind the Blues with a game in hand and Ferguson admits they must learn how to win matches 1-0.

"I know Chelsea win a lot of games 1-0 but you have to give a lot of credit to them for their defensive qualities, we are all jealous of it," said Ferguson.

"We are conceding early goals at home far too many times at the moment."

He added: "The margin for error is getting less, everyone is saying they hope Chelsea drop points.

"We are no different from Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham in that respect."

Now its that end bit thats annoying me. Arent we the team with the best premiership record at the moment? Arent we the ones hitting top form? Ok so we are asking for chelsea to drop points but how can he mention chelseas defense and not ours? Is it just alittle side swipe at us or am i just reading to much into something that isnt even there?

Also, is this more of the 'liverpool are not one of the top 3' that everyone keeps saying about us.

Maybe im just reading to much into everything but tis about time everyone stopped talking about chelsea as theres a new force in town, they wear red and they aint from manchester or london!!!

I think its because Chelski is in fact 12 points ahead of us and that's why we are not mentioned. Chelski also had conceded only 7 goals to our 8 goals. Therefore, on paper they are better than us. But if you take away the 1-4 game against Chelski, we only conceded 4 goals in 14 EPL games and not even Chelski can match us.

not just that. its people in general. you have the big 3 (mancs, goons and chelski) then us and spurs. Are we not big enough? take present or history and we are part of the big teams, not being in the big 3 is an insult. i know it shouldnt matter as long as we win but its just annoying to me

What Fat Fergie says shouldn't be influencing you anyways, Dawson. Everything coming out of his mouth is bull.

I think he is probably looking at how good Chelsea's defence have been over a longer run that just this season.  They have been excellent for 2 years now, where as we have been excellent over halfd a season.

I wouldn't take it personally, we all know that everyone is looking over their shoulders at us, but we still have a long way to go before we reach the consistancy that Chelsea have shown.

That doesn't mean that we will not be the ones everyone is talking about soon....

Alex Ferguson has usually been pretty fair when talking about us.  I heard an interview with him last year when asked about the "dominance of London Clubs" coz Arsenal and Chelsea had won the last 2 league titles and he p|ssed himself and said you need to look at the dominance of the North West teams as Liverpool and Man U had one more than they could dream about.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I agree with that, I'd much rather the other team's get the limelight while we battle away in the backround and let our football do our talking - then we will get the praise we deserve when we win trophies.

F*ck the red-nosed b*stard.
If he wants to delude himself that we aren't worthy, then fine. But what will he say when we batter them 4-0 at Old Shatford?
Punk.

We have only conceded in 3 Premiership games this out of 15 and in 1 champions league group game out of 6.
Thats 17 clean sheets out of a possible 21.

Chelsea may have conceded 1 less and also played a game more, but they have let in odd goals in games more frequently.

I think that statement from Fergie is a little dig, its plastered over the papers that we havent conceded in ten games, a record that has stood within the club for almost 20 years, and he comments about how well they are defending.

They are also rock solid at the back and he may envy them...but then he obviously does us as well (he would just never publicly admit it)

I hate this talk of the 'big three', Chelski, Manure and Arsenal. Chelski are'nt a big club, just a little club with lots of money. The only things that are big at Chelski are Romans bank balance and Maureens fooking head

That's right. I'd prefer for us to slip under the radar for as long as possible. Less pressure that way. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
