Simao knee injury sidelines lfc target - Out till after new year

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Injury to Simao might force the price down for Simao, or perhaps force Rafa to look elsewhere. Its a tough one, we already have a winger coming back from injury, and another signed with a knee injury, I dont think it would be a good buy myself. But who else is out there?

What is a panzy?
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Well maybe Rafa will still buy him but for a cut price. The thing is we need him ready for the new year for when Sissoko goes of to Mali in the African Nations Cup. Gonzalez should be playing by then but perhaps this will force Rafa to go for Dario Srna.

Mali haven't qualified for the African Nations, so we won't be losing him.

Benfica qualified to the round of 16 in the CL, so Simao's transfer is in doubt already

After actually thinking about it, I would rather have Simao too. For all of Joaquins skills he doesn't get many goals and Simao has a lot more end product to him and creativity. Also if Rafa is planning to go back to his 4-5-1 when he has built his team then the wide players need to help out with the goals and Joaquin doesn't get enough however in Rafas new system for him, it could be changed.

yeah i agree, from what i`ve seen of him he reminds me a bit of luis garcia in stature and any time anyone goes near him he dives like a u boat. he is quite pacy and has some skill but i cant see his attitude to the physical side of the game going down well at anfield. he`s one of those who goes down when tapped and stays down until either the ball goes out or the ref takes pity on him.

I'd be surprised if Benfica were still willing to let Simao go now they have qualified for the last 16. I haven't seen enough of Simao to make my mind up fully but do have my doubts. He looks like an intelligent player with some dribbling ability who can do a bit of everything. Quite similar to Smicer in some ways although a better player i think.

I'd love to see the club go in for Jaoquin if we can afford. Selling Cisse to raise some of the money could be the answer but only if the boss has confidence in Pongo (i would love to see the lad play more) to step up and make a contribution. If we don't have the money for Jaoquin i would go for Malbranque who is having a cracking season and has shown his quality in the EPL for years now.

Sissoko is not going to play for Mali because Mali didn't qualify for the World Cup.
