Didi hamman, - Legend, hard man

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ola Mr Benitez » Wed Dec 07, 2005 2:24 pm

I would just like to pay hommage to Didi Hamman.

This guy has won every trophy apart from the Premiership with Liverpool.

He works brilliantly for the team, never taking the headlines but just doing his job.

He reads the game as well as any other play in the league.

But most of all, the guy is a good honest pro, Essian of Chelsea is apparently being labelled as a "hard man".  All i can see is a player with undoubted skill who is finding playing in the hardest league in the world a bit too much like hard work.

His tackle last night was, a tackle made by a coward, who is always going to be compared to "the one that got away", our very own Steven Gerrard.  and to be honest he loses out in every way against SG.

Hamman is the true hard man who gets up and plays the full 90 minutes after a tackle that could have ended his career if his weight had been on the other leg.  Not only that but he polietely tells the interviewer after the game on ITV "you just have to get on with it"

Didi, you are a true gent, a fantstic player, a real hard man, and, in my opinion, an Anfield Legend....

... Essien is not fit to lace your boots!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I agree 100%, a broken foot and a converted penalty on the 25th May 2005, what a legend

He is very underestamated in the team but he is class, lets others get forward and  sits back and does the hard unrewarding stuff...legend

Didi can sit back when he retires and polish his European Cup, FA Cup, UEFA Cup (x 2? Didn't he win one for Bayern?), 2 league cup, Bundesliga, European Championship, 2 Supercup and Charity shield medals.

I hope he is still around when we finally bring the League Championship home. :blues:

I've always rated this player, he's been international for Germany, but I hear no complaining from him when he's on the bench. He's rock solid, and if you don't believe me, just look at the stats of recovered balls and compare those numbers with Sissoko's. Game in game out you'd see the amount of work he does is great (when he plays) and does this independently of how many games you use him. His passing is not awesome, but then, he's very secure and doesn't give the ball to the opponent easily. Ball recovery+don't losing the ball=decent defensive midfielder.

THank you Hamman!

Didi has quite possibly had the biggest role to play in Houlliers and Rafas reign, if he never came off against Dortmund, who knows where we might be now. And if he hadnt of came on at half time that night in Istanbul, we might not have had the european cup for keeps.

Total fu*king legend!  :bowdown

How much did we pay for Didi? About £8m wasn't it? In my view, a player like Hamman is worth £80m. He will be on the training pitch week in, week out doing the job that he is called on to do on staurdays. He never gives less than 100% and he always does what needs doing. He may not be the most exciting player at the club, but he is one hell of a foundation for any team to have and Newcastle were fools to sell him to us, thank God.

Didi Hamman is a legend. End Of. :)
