There will be no easy ties in the last 16 but winning the Group will let us avoid the likes of Barcelona.

Taken from the UEFA Champiosn League 2005/06 Regulations:

Article 19.04 states that: "Single yellow cards and pending suspensions are always carried forward either to the next stage of the competition or to another club competition in the current season (that would be the UEFA Cup)"

So are they not taken back at any stage in the competition ?

Thats b@llocks for us....we have played 11 games already surely that should be taken into consideration.

So they couldn't break Alonso's leg, but they sure as well tried to break Hamman's! What a bunch of pigs, Mourinho sent Essien to go and break someone's leg, and I tell you what, if Alonso was playing, he would have coped it again.

I do not think this rule is applied to the preliminary/qualifying stages of the Champions League. Can anyone verify that?

That's 2 matches Essien escaped just punishment. given his talent and abilities, it is a shame that a player like him goes out and keep doing these kind of tackles with intent.

No :censored: wonder Rafa left Xabi back in Liverpool, cause of them dirty cheating shower of :censored: :censored:
I am :censored: raging today over Gallas's tackle on Kewell and Essiens leg breaker on Hamann Ive watched this tackle closely a few times and if I am not mistaken it was probably meant for Gerrard.
When we played them at anfield on new years day last season when fat Frank broke xabi's ankle, there was rumours at the time that Maureen had given orders to take xabi out cause he was turning Chelsea inside out, and we would have won that day if Xabi had not have been injured.
So Rafa was right in protecting Xabi from them dirty :censored:
and Maureen you can :censored: off aswell you arrogant :censored: piece of :censored:.
Sorry for the language but my bloods boiling :veryangry
