Dundalk, the Judge is clearly clueless on football, and you will see in that particular thread that the merits of Garcia hugely out weigh the occasional and in frequent bad games.

Leon, he looked like he'd make something happen, Luis Garcia didn't. Thats the end of it.

Stu mate, dont talk down to me lad, you have your opinion, and I have mine.

Yours in not more correct than mine, and vice versa.

I was trying to engage you in conversation, obviously not an option !!

Haha :D

Sorry.

No seriously though, did you not think he looked lively and likely to score or create something?

For me, Luis Garcia tried, but nothing happened for him all game. He was poor when we had the ball.

Ping Pong always looks able to hold the ball up and bring others into play, he is ideal in that sense when you are holding onto a lead or trying to run down the game without commiting too many bodies forward. Score a goal though ? I reckon Rob Jones looks more likely to score a goal at this level.

Garcia had a quiet game, but to say he was :censored: sh.ite or anything like that is plain wrong.

Don't get me wrong, the lads got potential.

But he's lacking in discipline and passing ability and occassionally positional sense and nouse.

They are all things though that look as if they will improve with age. He's already a better passer than when he first played and he's getting smarter.

A year in the reserves should help him on. I'm not saying don't play him, but i think games like this are a step to far AT THE MINUTE.

The reserves play the same solid way. He'll get more confidence and improve playing for them. Get a decent right winger in and he'll be used sparingly untill he's ready, the thing is, he will be ready soon. The lads getting there. He lost form a few weeks ago after a beltin start, now he looks as if hes findin his level again.

Man sissoko and hamann was all over the place and made it easy for our back 4. if a defensive midfielder is relegated to the reserves after a clean sheet at stamford bridge then i think you and me are borne on different planets. sissoko has his strenghts and weaknesses but tonight he couldn't have done much more. try watching the game without drinking 10 pints of lager next time man, and enjoy. let's just agree that we disagree, but this time (as usual) i know who's right. tomorrow i bet rafa will single out sissoko for his excellent game tonight.

Well then please tell me what he did that that was good for the team tonight, I have already said I am a fan of Garcia I like him but tonight he wasnt with it tonight.

Most of his touches and passes were we wee flicks and to himself that Chavski just gobbled up, he was the weak link in our team

Im not trying to slaughter him. I am a big fan of him he has got us out of a lot a bad situations last season and this season but tonight he looked bad and it hasnt be for the first time.

I just think that our link up play was very good tonight going forward and he let it down a lot when the ball was played to him. We had players running through for balls to be played to them from him tonight but them passes never happened

Alonso and Gerrard are the future. Sissoko is a superb PROSPECT but he's nowhere near the finished article and at times he gets carried by the team, IE the last few games.

We are a good side, developing superbly, hence he's doing ok. But he wasn't great tonight by any stretch of the imagination.

You make it quite clear about your dislike for Sami, but if you look at the DEFENCE this season they've been terrific. Hyypia, Carragher, Reina, Finnan, Warnock and Riise have all been outstanding defensively and the system has got the best out of all of them.

The positioning of Hyypia, Carragher and Finnan is exceptional. They all read the game superbly and have different strengths, however, they are all primarily superb DEFENDERS. At left back we have Warnock and Riise who are also good players and potentially in the same backet. Riise isn't as defensive minded, but concentrates well and does his best, where as Warnock will learn with time.

To say however, the midfield makes it easy for the defence is insulting to one of the best defensive units in world football. If not the best at the moment.

Hi Stu, I see you and Banana are renewing old acquaintances :D

Agree with your comments on the defence but to suggest a year in the reserves for Sissoko is a tad harsh lad:p

Finished article or not. So I guess winning the spanish title a couple of times with Valencia and several convincing performances for us makes him a reserve team player? Ok, he ain't as good as Gerrard or Alonso. But then again, who is? I can't think of any player capable of replacing them. They are simply the best midfielders in the world. And with Hamann and Sissoko as back up we have a very competetive midfield.

And I do believe that our defence ain't the best in the world. Our fullbacks are only slightly above average and we only have 1 really good centre half. But Alonso is doing extremely well at reading the game and protecting the back 4, and when he isn't playing then Hamann or Sissoko are willing to break their legs to help our defenders out. I think Alonso is a creative genious, but in my mind he is even better at defending. He is like a chess player protecting his king. You know check mate means the king is dead in persian, and that is not going to happen as long as we have a disciplined and hard working midfield. Our opponents can't break through and they start playing long balls. That is exactly what Hyypia and Carragher like to handle. Which bring me to Kewell. I was truly shocked after he came on how little work he put in and how bad his movement was. Only with the ball at his feet did he show a bit of interest. He did not defend, he did not move. And at 65 grands a week that is a disgrace.

So then we agree i suppose? Good to be back ey?
