Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Need more proof of the how highly regarded our players are? Wondering how much we've eclipsed the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal? Check out the FIFPro World XI team, where each player position was voted on by 38,000 professional footballers in 40 countries:

Goalkeeper:
Nelson Dida (Brazil/AC Milan)

Defenders:
Cafu (Brazil/AC Milan)
Alessandro Nesta (Italy/ AC Milan)
John Terry (England/Chelsea)
Paolo Maldini (Italy/AC Milan)

Midfielders:
Ronaldinho (Brazil/Barcelona)
Frank Lampard (England/Chelsea)
Claude Makelele (France/Chelsea)
Zinedine Zidane (France/Real Madrid)

Forwards:
Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon/Barcelona)
Andriy Shevchenko (Ukraine/AC Milan)

What shi.te is this? Surely Gerrard and Carra should be on there somewhere?

Come on, would you rather have Gerarrd of Makelele on your team? Carra has also done so much more for his team than any Chelsea player has done for their team. Chubby Cheeks (Lampard) and Terry are both great players in their own right, but Carra would give his arms for the club, and Gerrard lifts the spirits of the whole team and all the fansa, something none of these Russian owned scum could ever do.

That should do as a first post I think

I think you should concentrate more about the team you supposedly support rather than rivals  :suspect:

Ask any one of these players if they would rather be on this list, or be EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS!

Liverpool FC = League Champions 18 times.

Chelsea FC = League Champions 2 times.

Liverpool FC = European Champions 5 times.

Chelsea FC = European Champions 0 times.

Chelsea have "eclipsed" nothing.

Two league titles in 100 years means nothing.

Makalele, Fatty AND Bet-man are misplaced in that team.

The GK and defence are literally filled with losers (Sh*tski - CL semi, AC - Serie A AND CL final). Terry is the only one I'd even consider putting in there.

The midfield is a joke. Ronaldinho - yes, obviously, but for f*ck sake - what has Zidane done in the past year!?!
Makalele is just a rough sack of sh*t. No class, little skill, just pushing and shoving.

Fatty scored about 20 goals, about 9 of which were penalties, and 11-ish were massive deflections.

The front line is taking the p*ss aswell. Shevi - yes, but Eto'o!?! Are they being serious labeling him as 1 of the 2 best strikers in the World!?! Feck off.

A better team would include:

JC (HOW was this lad overlooked!?!

??? )

Gerrard          "
Henry (Better than Eto'o last season, IMO).

These Pro's really don't have a clue do they?

The only reason why Carragher and Gerrard aren't in that team is that they both tell folk when they're wrong - something the modern day pro obviously can't handle.  ???

I certainly wouldn't had Makalele and Lampard in World XI team when there are better central midfielders than them.

Gerrard,Ballack would be ahead of Lampard by a country mile. I'd take Alonso over Makalele.

The Rock - I think that certain players could be injured for all but one game of a season, score 4 og's and get sent of for buggering the ref, and still get in.
It's a buddy-buddy system.

Yea, i think this is our best chance of getting close to chelski. I dont think Manure or Arsenal are as good as they were.

COME ON YOU RED MEN!

Cafú, Maldini and Zidane were great players in the past. Today I would not change them by any of our 11 starting Liverpool players.
