We need a win.

Keep the momentum going.

Fourth and even second place is within reach if we maintain this run.

Unless he's injured, theres no reason why he wouldn't travel.

I'm looking for us to be 3 up by the 60 minute mark (Gerrard, Cisse, Morientes) then  Crouch to come on for Morientes and get the 4th with Kewell scoring late in regulation time to make it 5!!!

As I said earlier, I'd like to see us take the opportunity to record a convincing win.  I don't doubt that we will produce another solid performance at the back and the midfield will again dominate possession and control the game but our forwards have struggled and hitting the back of the net more than twice could finally see the flood gates open if we are lucky.

I think that by fielding our strongest team possible and really going for the jugular Rafa could puts some real concerns (if they're not there already) in the minds of Maurinho, Fergie and Wenger.

The downside is if course if we only win by a solitary goal (or worst case scenario, draw - there's no way we'll lose!) the critics may use this as ammunition against Crouch and Morientes - but hey what's new?

I'm confident that we'll have the majority of possession and chances - so if the goals don't come it'll be down to bad luck again!

Yer Ive heard Cisse isnt travelling either,  Sunderlands defenders arnt the quickest around, but if he is upsetting the camp, maybe its best that he doesnt travel.
After seeing his face and antics on saturday, the changing room and the coach on the way back must have been pleasant to say the least. probably cut the atmosphere with a knife so to speak.
We are on a good run the players are full of confidence, and we cant have one player spoiling it for everyone (if this is true).
Didnt one of the papers say yesterday he's put in a transfer request?
Maybe there is a bit of truth in it afterall.

Assuming all the inavailabilities, such as Cisse's absense from the travelling contingent (?):

                  Reina

Josemi  Carragher  Hyypia  Riise

Garcia  Gerrard  Sissoko  Kewell

           Morientes  Crouch

SUBS: Dudek, Hamann, Alonso, Sinama-Pongolle, Finnan.

I don't see how letting Finnan get a well-deserved rest and fielding Josemi would disallow us from getting 3 points,

I do cause he Josemi is cr@p, What about Carra, and Sammi ? Theyve played more games than Finnan there is noway any of our back 4 can be rested.5 Clean sheets since them two  Josemi and Traore havent played if thats not a statement that they are rubbish I dont know what is. When either of them play we conceed goals.

Seeing as Alonso looks unavailable and cisse the same, i'd like to see:

                       Reina

Finnan    Carragher     Hyypia     Warnock

Kewell      Gerrard      Hamann      Riise

               Garcia
                       Morientes

this is a big must win game, it will put us on the same amount of games as most of the prem teams.
things would not look good if we did not take 3 points tonight.

well the reserves beat sunderland reserves 1-0 last night and to be honest i'd settle for the same result tonight. the only thing that will stop us winning is our attitude. the sunderland fans up here just can't see where their next point's coming from, let alone the next win. the ex sunderland goalkeeper jim montgomery has backed crouch to score a hatrick ffs. :D
