I think McCarthy is great "It was 2 rubbish teams playing rubbish football" and "i dont question there effort, i question there ability"

Hes quality and tells it how it is, something you dont see that often anymore, if the interviewer would have said "Are you sh!te?" He would have said  "Yes"  :D

He also said that he expects us to spank them. :D Sunderland won't roll over for us, we need to take it seriously with a serious line up not some :censored: some of you lot *coughMilitaRushercough* have suggested.

I dont think Rafa takes any game for granted, he is meticulous in his planning.

Also, AB are the mods OK with you advertising another forum on here?

I'd like to see us really take the opportunity to bang in some goals. There should be no excuses and it will do wonders for the confidence of our strikers.

                              Reina

Finnan        Carragher      Hyypia         Riise

Garcia        Alonso          Gerrard         Kewell

                Cisse            Morientes

Subs: Dudek, Warnock, Crouch, Sissoko, Hamman

I'm looking for us to be 3 up by the 60 minute mark (Gerrard, Cisse, Morientes) then  Crouch to come on for Morientes and get the 4th with Kewell scoring late in regulation time to make it 5!!!

it will not be a high scoring game.. maybe 2-0, but more realisitic 1-0. sunderland maybe a lousy team but they will be tough at home, so i think crouch and morientes will start the match with cisse on the bench. i think his displeasure when being substitued will not please rafa.

my starting lineup

             reina
finnan   carragher   hyypia   warnock
gerrard   hamman   sissoko   garcia/ kewell
           crouch    morientes

i am quite sure cisse won't start. he is just not active enough on the defensive end. perhaps too big a superstar for liverpool currently. his overplay is not great at all. maybe he scores goals but still not consistent enough to be the superstar in the team( thats what he thinks).

To be honest we will have more of an attacking edge against Sundrland to the team that played against city, think Alonso and Gerrard will play in the center and kewell and garcia on the wings, with risse dropped to left back (This has nothing to do with the way Warnocks been playing) and Cisse all almost defo wont start on Wednesday. Regardless of who plays though this is are game in hand and with the squad as it is and the confidence running through it, 3 points is the least im expecting and hopefully another clean sheet because Sunderland are pretty darn woeful.

sunderland's last home win in the top flight was against.....yes you've guessed it. US. infact that season they got a magnificent total of 19 points, 4 of which came off us, including a point at anfield in what was officially the most one sided match in premiership history (33 shots to nil).

infact i remember the away game specifically because it was the game when houllier had his brilliant brainwave of dropping hyypia due to "poor form" and playing biscan at centre half. consequently we lost the game.

can't see it happening on wednesday though. this sunderland team is even worse than the one which only managed 19 points. if crouch can't score against this lot he might as well give up now. :D

My team:

                   Reina

Josemi  Carragher  Hyypia  Riise

Garcia  Gerrard  Sissoko  Kewell

           Morientes  Crouch

SUBS: Dudek, Cisse, Warnock, Alonso, Finnan.

Don't see why we can't give several first team players a rest, namely Finnan and Alonso (maybe still with that niggling injury), when we're playing the weakest team in the league. We have enough quality at our disposal to claim all 3 points anyhows.

Sunderland are there for the taking. Couldn't come at a better time considering we are goin through a great run with a possible 7th consecutive clean sheet!
