henrick larsson and guti, one who approaching his mid 30's and one who has been a bit part player at madrid his whole career and now  in his late 20's who cannot leave madrid because he will be found out that he is a waste of space.i would chose ronaldinho adriano joaquin and the next young superstar messi

Larrson would be good for 2-3 seasons he would score a load of goals i didnt say he would be long term man but for the short term he would be great in my thoughts (which i thought was the whole point of this topic). as for Guti he is a class player who hasnt had a great chance at madrid but who does when you have to compete for places with the likes of Beckham, Zidane, Figo at the time and the rest. yes u have an argument but i was trying to be realistic as i mentioned before. i do not think that Ronaldinho will come to liverpool at this moment in time.

if he only costs an arm and a leg, i have one of each to donate

cool. A saw anyone? I volunteer to do the amputation. (kidding)

Back to topic, we need a right winger, not necessarily Joaquin, but a decent winger. LG can play in the right, but there are games that are to be solved entering by the wings and crossing, specially in EPL matches in which teams are closed down against Liverpool. From my league, to name a few, Novo, Joaquin. Erm, please do not sign him, but Prieto of Real Sociedad is likely to be in the Spanish Squad in the next 3 years, he's very young and best winger I've seen since 1988 games.

We cannot rely on luck when it comes to injuries. We need another good centre back, I love Argentinians for this tasks, Ayala or Coloccini would be perfect.

That would be my first concerns, left wing? well I'd like to see more the left wing we had yesterday, and with the addition of Gonzalez (I still think he's going to be more a future player than inmmediate success) should be enough. I don't think Rafa would have signed him if he relied on Kewell, but then, I'd like to see more from Kewell anyway (so far I'm not convinced). If I had to do a signing, Duda (excellent free kicks and crosses) or Solari, would be good name in the quality/price relationship.

Right back? drop Josemi, and bring a promising youngster to be a squad player and have minutes

Middle? don't touch what is best of Europe.

Strikers? If Rafa brings a right winger, I'd like to see LG as scond striker, and that might be a great signing. Nihat aswell, needless to say.
