My computer's picked up one of these spyware viruses, I've downloaded free virus scans that have confirmed this.  Is there any way I can get it removed without having to pay by credit card to one of these online companies??  It's a fu.cking nuisance

Type 'Microsoft antispyware Beta 1' into your serach engine mate and download that ! It scans for spyware and gives you the option of removing it! Works fine for me fella! :;):

Be very very careful with spyware!

There are a lot of malware programes out there pretending to be antispyware programes. These carry out a false scan of your PC and inform you of non existant spyware programes. They offer you a "free" scan and charge around €30 for "removing" the spyware. They don't remove the spyware at all but instead hide their own spyware.

These new malware programes are the most sinister of all spyware. They normally arise by pretending to be the solution, when in fact they are the problem.

If you have spyware take the pain and cough up £20 for a licence to a top anti-spyware package. Do a Google search and read reviews of the top 3 antispyware programes.

DO NOT attempt to download a purported solution from a link which suddenly pops up in your systemtray, as this is most definitely a malware. Malware often uses the same  icons as Norton, Windows or McAfee and can trick you into thinking that those companies are offering the product. They are not.
