that will do two things

1. allow officers to defend themselves against any life threat, no matter who they are
2. allow this country to control the obvious nutters that are seeping into the country under false pretences.

some may say that is easier said than done, but TBH i feel so strong on the matter, it would be easier just to do it. Our citizens etc, need protection. If the government cant do it, then who can??

well shipping everyone who is not English back to their country of origin would be a start. And before the 'race police' jump on my back it isn't meant as an attack on anyone inparticular. Then, issue ID cards to everyone and electronic tag everyone in the country so the authorities know where everyone is. This would assist in all crime solving.

I hope they have the criminal who did this. What punishment should he get? Some might say death penalty. I'd rather round up her husband, brothers, uncle's etc and lock them in a room for 10 minutes with the cunt.

i did ask for this thread to not get into race in my origional post, i also never mentioned the race of the people involved, i said i wont mention them as i didnt want this thread to be hijacked my the anti race police on here but its been edited by supersub for some reason and also without any explanation.

maybe you can explain the edit as now it makes it look as though i may have made a racist comment in the origional. i feel the origional post was ok in its origional for and in i was careful as to not make it offensive by not mentioning the race pf the arrested people or rant about sending people back etc

I read your original post peewee and I saw nothing wrong with it. You deliberately stated that you did not want the thread to be about race but just to honour a dead woman.

Maybe you should PM supersub about it although in fairness supersub is very thorough and fair and may simply have misinterpreted what you were saying?

i think it is a very sensitive topic, and will arouse all sorts of feelings from all sorts of folk on here.

however, i think its safe to say we ALL do feel sad for the family of the dead policewomen

Lee J, is serious I think, and thats fair enough, its his view, but lets not get into that, out of respect to Sharon!!

All I wanted to say, was in relation to Judges idea that all police should carry guns.
I definetly understand the sentiment, but I could see a few problems. Firstly, it could do the opposite (of what Judge, others and myself would believe would happen!) in that, instead of scaring criminals into NOT using guns, it might actually make them think...'Well, if it gets on top, the Police are gonna have guns, and might shoot just to try and stop us if we are running, F*ck it, in that case, we need to be tooled up too, just to protect ourself and keep the feds at bay'. Now this is not my idea, but I could imagine certain criminals taking such a view.

Also, it could lead to the same type of problems, we have seen in the past (in many incidents in London) and recently with Charles De Menezes (SP?) the brazillian guy shot thinking he was a terrorist. There could be an increase in the number of 'innocent' people maimed and even killed (i would call it murder personally!).

We need to really consider this properly as a nation, is the possibilty of innocent people being shot more often and the even worse notion of Police using the gun as a form of intimadation on people they stop, whether that be on the street or ina car, really worth it?

Its scary times we are entering, but ID cards wont solve anyhting at all, they can easily be forged just like, driving licenses, passports, N.I. Cards and een money!! If anything it could make it harder to track people, especially if they have a forged ID card, yet people believe it to be 'real'. And as for tracking everyone, sorry but nobody is tagging me, I want my freedom and dont want to be tracked, I talked about martial law in a thread a few months ago, and if people advocate tagging the whole nation (as Lee J does!) then it is making it a lot easier for this to come into place, because I would assume by Lee J's comments, that he would vote in favour of this if it was put to a national vote.

Maybe in Liveranytimes neck of the woods the Kariminals carry nothing more than a swiss army knife BUT my area is awash with guns of all description . I say give the police the weapons with which to defend themselves AND encourage them to use them, one more dead scumbag is a cause for celebration in my book ,and as for the thearguement that innocent people may get killed , hah ! here's a newsflash for yer , Innocent people get killed all the time , usually by the scum that are already armed to the teeth.

Police are not getting killed by armed robbers every day of the week so lets not get carried away here, I've known a few socially+in my work and wouldn't trust them with red-pepper spray let alone a firearm.

Since the troubles stopped in Northern Ireland there has been a lot more common crime!
The crime rate here although at an all time high ie burglaries,murders,rapes,muggings etc is one of the lowest in the UK!!

The police still cary guns at ALL times!
Personally i think the fact the police are armed and trained with firearms is the main factor in this!
In fact im positive of this!
And for the record i cant think of one occassion that an inoccent man/woman/child has been shot by mistaken identity(in normal times)

So there you go people and the worm,see us as a kind of guinea pig if you like!
The statistics are there! Arm the police and people think twice before running the risk and committing serious crime!
