Match of the day - Liverpools lack of coverage

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

What is it with Match of the Day and the coverage we get.Week in week out we are either last or second to last on the programme and lucky if we get more than 5 minutes worth of highlights.I heard someone say that Liverpool get put on last because they know that thousands of liverpool fans will be waiting for their team, and this enables the programme to get decent viewing figures for the whole of the programme.
Now call me stupid but wouldnt that be the case if manure, chelsea or Arsenal were last ??????
The 3 top teams i have mentioned there dominate the programme week in week out.You would think especially with their being two ex players in the studio our coverage would be much more than what it is.

I've noticed in recent MOTDs we are near midnight come last pairing up, it is feeble and for all the whinging of small club fans our games are not usually boring. That the only game after was a 0-0 is plain insulting

Probably sh1t scared of showing Liverpool any favouritism in case Fergie has another wee turn.

Its bandwagon-ism. Chelski and Maure naturally don't like us. Having said that, most of the Gooners I know seem to both like and have respect for Liverpool, mainly or European exploits.

They should show highlights in a more neutral fashion. Putting the nil nils on late will just mean lots of people switch off but if they show the three highest aggregates first and then stick all the dull games in a brief highlights package before showing the rest noone can argue. If that leaves time then show extra highlights or have a ten minute chit chat about the league standings

I know we never get much coverage and we are always on at the end.
I think when we play the likes of Chelsea, Manure and the gunners we will get the 10-15 minutes what ever, and until we are in the top 4 permenatly suppose we will just be lashed to te 5 minutes air time on MOTD.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Hardly fair to judge us on our league position as we've played less games. Then again lots of other fans sit in judgement because we're mid table and they're too ignorant or stupid to acknowledge we're actually as well placed as a number of teams above us

Sorry lads, but no matter how many matches we had played it was 11th v 17th or something. Hardly material for a high scheduling. When we're in the top three expect to be scheduled earlier. Best bet is football first on sky if you have it.

We're only 11th because we haven't played as many games as teams above us. Man City vs Blackburn was goalless and Man City were above us so that logic surely doesn't apply?

All I'm trying to say is that sometimes we can become a bit paranoid. Our match was hardly the biggest fixture of the day.

Matches are Chelsea, Charlton and Wigan featured to top five.

When we get towards the top expect to see us further up the schedule.

On the plus side, I think the way that Sky and BBC's anti-Liverpool stance has been over recent years will mean it'll be more likely that a decent proportion of LFC's matches will be among the packages that (hopefully) free-to-air terrestrial broadcasters will pick up when Sky's monopoly on the Prem finally ends. :)

I agree entirely (in fact i was going to start a thread myself on the topic after last night). We played villa 2 weeks ago in an early kick off, so i thought they would probably show our game first. Not a :censored: chance. So imagine how :censored: off i was when after watching a couple of the other games i fell asleep and woke up to find Hansen and :censored: features 'analysing' our match. So this week i was thinking maybe we'd be lucky and get shown first or second. Not a :censored: bit off it they even showed the :censored: bitters getting walloped in an evening kick off before us. What the :censored: is going on Liniker sort it the :censored: out.

Quite why people use this type of thing to create some kind of anti LFC bias is beyond me...

We've got a huge fanbase, and as such, a fair portion of the viewers for MOTD will be Liverpool fans. By putting all the well supported clubs in the first 3 or 4 games, MOTD run the risk of losing half their audience by 11pm.

I said that Mick in my first post, but the fact is we are never in the first 3 or 4 games but always 2nd to last or last......stick bloody Man utd last if they care so much about viewing figures.
