not sure i understand your question, but i'll try to answer

you can get pretty much any sort of system that plays mp3's. from a hi-fi to car stereo. cd players now a days support mp3 format cd's. even the good ole' iPod will play without earphones, by plugging it into a stereo through RCA connection, or through any radio using iTRIP attachment.

There are many other units that do not have moving parts like iPod, such as phones and imitation style iPods. some stereo's like sony and aiwa (same thing really) can play music through USB ports (flash memory). all you do is put ur music from ur computer onto a thumb drive (portable usb memory) and plug into the port in the front of the stereo and presto it plays

Or you can buy speakers for about £50 for the ipod, we bought some for our holiday to save taking loads of cd's.
The girls in the apartment above us were asking why we bought so many cd's abroad.
We had about 50 albums on it.
ipods are too good.
