Liverpool's Premiership Record (1992/3 to 2003/4)

2003/2004 Pos. 4th P33 L10 Pts 49 (max 64)
2002/2003 Pos. 5th P38 L10 Pts 64
2001/2002 Pos. 2nd P38 L6 Pts 80
2000/2001 Pos. 3rd P38 L9 Pts 69
1999/2000 Pos. 4th P38 L9 Pts 67

1998/1999 Pos. 7th P38 L14 Pts 54

1997/1998 Pos. 3rd P38 L9 Pts 65
1996/1997 Pos. 4th P38 L8 Pts 68 (Level on points with 2nd)
1995/1996 Pos. 3rd P38 L7 Pts 71
1994/1995 Pos. 4th P42 L10 Pts 74

1993/1994 Pos. 8th P42 L16 Pts 60

1992/1993 Pos. 6th P42 L15 Pts 59

Have we really progressed under Houllier? Obviously both Evans and Houllier are a marked improvement on Souness, but I can't see too much to separate Evans and Houllier on their league records bar two things - Houllier spent more and Houllier managed 2nd place one season. Maybe the 2nd place was the "blip" and 3rd-5th is the best Houllier can manage. We are regularly losing 9 games a season - how does anyone expect that to be turned into title contention form?

we are currently going downhill rapidly and they are not going to improve under the current regime. things have to change. i'm by no means saying we have a divine right to be successful, but 29 points behind arsenal is an absolute joke.

I'm not sure we're going down hill rapidly. Downhill, yes. But it's made to look worse by the progress Arsenal & Chelski have made so the gulf between us and them is opening up faster than Jordan's legs.

yeah but if we had a billionaire take us over we'd definitely be up there this season because we'd be able to buy so many players that even houllier would eventually be able to assemble a decent team to challenge.

Moores won't even entertain the idea of a dyed-in-the-wool LFC fan with £50million never mind a Russian with £50BILLION!

I'd feel a bit of a cheat winning the prem by buying it, but who gives a f##k? If some foreign benefactor wants to launch us to glory on the back of a blank cheque then bring it on! Sadly I don't see it happening. We'll be stuck with Moores until god knows when and worse still possibly GH as well.

As a team I dont think we have progressed anywhere near as much as we would of liked! Ferking hell, trust me to state the obvious.  We cant really be considered title contenders at the moment as we are closer to relegation than the top of the league.  Qualification this year is a must for the champions league, mainly for the financial gain.  However making an impact in the competition against some of the quality I have seen will be difficult with the some of the impostors that play for us week in week out. IMO.

Any idea why Moores seems to like Houllier so much? I admire the fact that he gives a manager a chance and even last year probably thought "1 bad season" but now the club is going down the toilet.

Just as well Everton are sliding too.
