Creativity - We have none

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

it would be interesting to see how many of our goals this season have NOT come from either poor defending or a steven gerrard cross/set piece. i bet it's not many. what i am getting at is that we don't have enough creativity to break teams down. a general lack of width may be to blame for this as everything is channelled through the centre and infront of the defence. you look at players like giggs, scholes, ronaldo, pires, ljungberg and you see that they all create hatfuls of goals and chances for others with their quality and movement. i don't see this with us. i see diouf being asked to stick to the line. i see kewell looking interested in 10 minute spells. we should have gone in for scott parker when we had the chance. he would have been ideal. especially at home, when teams come to frustrate us, we just lack the intelligence to break them down. thoughts please?

I too thought that we made a mistake by not going for parker thought he had good vision, good on the ball, good stamina levels and could put is foot in, perhaps the price was too high or the real reason could have been he has never played in france!!! :D another i though would have been a good signing would have been Joe Cole!!! Simon Davies was linked for a while thought he would have been good in the Red!!! Why not giveJohn Welsh an Opportunity, Or ritchie Partridge!! opportunities for the youngsters are long over due!! diouf is under achieving badly, somebody with liverpool at heart should be given the chance!!!!!

Id like to see Riise geiven another run in the team, he is good at attacking and go past players well enough. Diouff has under achieved but he should be playing upfront anyways, maybe not for us. I know we shouldnt play people out of position but id play Kewell behind a front two with Riise on the left running up and maybe Pongolle or someone with pace on the right. I know it probably wouldnt work but it cant huret can it. i mean we cant get much worse!

In my opinion we have creative players in the team like Kewell Baros and Gerrard but how often have these 3 started a game in their best positions???
The problems start at the back as they play so deep which means the midfield drops back further which leaves usually just Owen up front isolated.
We lack so many runners from midfield that the player on the ball has very few options. With our blatant lack of width teams have less space to defend which leaves us with such a limited space to attack teams.
Our team must send in the least number of crosses from near the dead ball line as everything is compressed in the middle of the pitch.Even when crosses do go in the box it is very rare to have more than 2 players in the box.
Houllier wake up the game is about scoring goals.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.
