Ta'ra. Got me pompey shirt on and i'm proud.

We're coming for you, coming to do yer mooshes.

Shhhh Ahhhhh

SUPER POMPEY STAYING UP!

What does mooshes mean ?
AB is right about not underestimating any team but tbh i dont think Rafa would.
With the international break he'll of had quite alot of time to prepare for this game and i think if we score early it could be our biggest win of the season.
The draw you lot got at Anfield last season was a fluke, winning the biggest club football trophy there is certainly is not.

Indeed Saturdays game will not be easy but if we concentrate like we have done over the last few games then we should comfortably see off 3 points. Pompey will no doubt be coming for us as they always do and im sure we all know what a dange Robert can be however i firmly beleive we have the best tactional manager in the Europe and with an ever improving squad they should be match for the likes of Gerrard and co. My prediction 3 -1 to us.

don't entirely agree with you there, AB. though we haven't played as a team due to the break, all our players involved in the internationals have had good games. luis goes without saying, nando came on and scored, alonso came on and steadied the ship, gerrard had his best england game for some time, crouchy came on and was very effective. these players are going to be coming back on a high and no-one picked up any knocks.

as for this pompey game i don't see anything other than a win for us, and i've crushed my rose tinted glasses to a fine dust. i also see us continuing our run of clean sheets. the fella posting on here obvioulsy isn't thinking too much, predicting both a win for pompey and a 1-1 draw. the only concern i have, and its a minor one, is that the manager has games against us and chelsea to save his job. if he was ever going to get his players fired up for a game its going to be this one.

Alain Perrin couldnt fire up a barbeque Andy  :D  Seriously have you seen him, i predict a swift departure for Perrin after the Liverpool game, must be Sh!te having a chairman who wants to rip your football club apart, Milan Manderic has turned Pompey into nothing but a joke.

I have a feeling that Rafa may opt to start with Kewell. I hope he comes out with a strong squad like the other week. Stevie on the right, Luis with Momo and Xabi in the middle. I expect Crouch to start with either Cisse or Nando.

Only doubt about Kewell is he playing in the playoffs for Australia this week and he played in Uraguay on Saturday and plays in Australia on Wednesday so i doubt he would play Kewell unless he has to, and he has better options than him anyway.

I agree better option being not playing him at all.

You know Sabre, Spain is a mystery, always producing SO many amazing footballers, in recent years you where world and European champions in the youth categories....I dont understand it when it comes to you guys in the finals  of major touranments?

I can tell for certain that it's not politics. Since I follow football with some "reasoning" (>13 years old) I've known not more than 2 players of the so called "independentist" regions of my country that has refused to go to the national squad "La Selección", none of which were summoned neither. I think Oleguer the Barcelona player has refused aswell but he hasn't been summoned yet.

Spain is not homogeneous country, if you want it in 4 lines, in the north we are like xabi alonso, more serious, workers, not many jokes. IN the South they're more like Joaquin and Reyes, fiesta, always smiling even when they fail a glorious chance, and all that. In the East they're of their own, and aren't generous with tips and mainly, money, Andy G could probably put some insight on this :D

But as a squad the points we have in common makes us united, there are no autonomical rivalries inside and no cleeches (sp? :D)

Reasons? Mentality. We play too confidently agains who are supposed to be worse than us, Morocco, Ireland, Belgium, Norway, and thus have some surprises, and we play very frightened against teams that have lots of reputation and myth like Italy. It's something like we know that they score 0-1 with their luck and it just happens.

Of course, the ref has aswell something to do, not in England 1996 certainly, but in USA the ref told Luis Enrique to stand up (diving) and the guy was bleeding with his nose broken by Tassoti... the case of Corea in the last WC, was insulting too.

So main problem, mentality. Secondary problems (Ref/luck)
