Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Thanks for the help getting an audio feed earlier Drummer, in the end I got to watch the 2nd half.

We played well, Garcia and Moro both had good halfs.  After watching a bit of Garcia recently I can't help thinking that we've got to play him, and we've got to play him in the middle.  I don't care who you put out right, Cisse, Pongelle (why haven't we seen him for so long - is he injured?) or Gerrard, though my heart says Pongelle.

                  Reina
Finnan, Carragher, Hyppia, Warnock
Pongelle/Cisse, Gerrard, Alonso, Riise
                 Garcia
                  Moro

SUBS - Carson, Cisse/Pongelle, Crouch, Sissoko/Hamann, Zenden

Nice to go to bed happy for a change

Hopefully the gaffer would stick to the same lineup for the next game. It was among the best game liverpool has played this season so far. Big cheers for the team.

Not quite sure if it is our best team( not to happy with SG plating at RM) but it certainly is our best defence and hopefully Rafa will not :censored: about with it.

Just home was up in mates watching the match on RTE...im a happy boy!!!
Thought we played well and controlled the game without really firing on all cylinders.
Garcia was for me today our best player and im delighted to say that i really dont think he put a foot wrong and should have scored only for a fantastic save!!
Thought the midfield and defence done well and no complaints there!
Morientes played a bit better and looks a bit fitter, but the only thing that will get him match fit is a good run of games! He's still severely lacking sharpness and a bit of confidence. Also would love to see a bit more aggression in his game.Hopefully it will all come together for him soon.
As for Cisse,i  reckon his only problem is making the wrong decisions at the wrong time!
There were a few times today when the ball was begging to be hit and he passed it and also afew times when the ball was begging to be passed he shot!
I suppose its to be expected though as the team still dont really understand eachother as yet, because so many changes of tactics and players are being made all the time!!
Was pleased with the team Raffa started with today, lets just hope he gives this 11 a good 4 weeks or so together to gel and find a bit of form

Definitely our best defence they didnt have a shot on target, and the spell on the bench has woken up Garcia hes fantastic tonight.
Good spirit in the team, especially from Alonso, love to see him throwing in tackles all around the pitch.
Good news just dont stop coming, Arsenal draw with Tottenham earlier and now Boro is winning by 3 goals:D

Ifthe game told me one thing today it was that there is no need for rafa to make any changes for Tuesday, that was a good solid performance and we could have really had a few more than the two.

Garcia was quality today but that is expected, there is no half way with him, hes gonna be as flambouyant as you like and when it doesnt come off or you try being fancy at the wrong time or the wrong places you can look like a muppet and fans will yet you know, but today he got everything spot on, work rate, touch, passing, vision, the lot, you dont know what to expect from Garcia from one game to the next but if he can keep that sort of form up ill be more than happy.

Alonso, master class from the maestro in midfield, he was awesome, in fact the midfield was excellent as a whole, Sissoko was his usual battling slef, he let Alonso get on with his game, Garcia and Gerrard worked the flanks wonderfully.

And i cant say how pleased i was to see Finnan return, he was excellent, you just dont know how good this lad is until hes not in the team, and the fact we performed much better without Joesmi and Traore isnt a coincidence, believe me.

Didnt think id be writting this but that was more like it today and i hope Rafa sees that and gives this team the chance to perform like that again on Tuesday......but with a bit more clinical finishing from the front 2.

And Kop 1892, i cant believe you feel sorry for Cisse, he had chances on a plate 1st half and spat his dummy out in the 2nd, he blames everything else for his mistakes apart from himself, him and Morientes shud have bagged a couple each.

And the mancs are 3 nil down at half time, oh and Theo Walcott bagged again for southampton and lets hope the reds are gonna sign this wonderkid before Spurs get there dirty hands on him, he is gonna be special this boy

the best we played in a long long while.  SG on the right sort of give the team the right balance and Garcia was simply outstanding.

More please.

Spot on mate. Finnan is just so reliable, you feel safe with him in the side.

A couple weeks back there was a guy on this forum wondering what Finnan gives to the team. If he watched today he would see. From an Irish point of view its a pity Brian Kerr didnt see it and we might be in the playoffs now.
