Amazing what a good win can do - for us and the players. Moro almost looked confident towards the end - a few nice tricks. Glad Zenden scored, but I hope he doesn't get a sarting place out of it! Riise MUST play every game, at full back at home and maybe in midfield away. I think maybe Rafa has found his best line up and formation.........

Fantastic result, not only because its 3 points, but we played bloody great for once! Luis Garcia must have a twin who knows how to play football.

Nando played well but he just doesn't seem to have the finishing touch. Garcia was a different player and altogether it was a massive improvement on the recent games. Playing the strongest midfield just looked more balanced and even Zenden slotted in well.
I thought Sissoko was great against Ferdinand who's a good looking player.
Let's hope that this side gets a bit of a run together and gets to know each other.

1-0 had me a happy man but 2-0 has now made my day, in a way the Carling Cup defeat was good because it made sure all the players woke up, and they were sure as hell awake today. Let's hope it continues!

I thought the team played with real spirit for the full 90. It seemed the team wanted Nando to score as they all seem to be slipping him passes when they could have shot. We do not need to get too carried away though as this is a team we should beat 2-0, but an excellent win under the circumstances.

Garcia was excellent!

Good result but the performance was only okay. Our frontmen yet again failed to create any chances between them. This is cos of cisse's lack of awareness and intelligence and morientes' lack of pace altho other than that morientes played quite well. Luis Garcia final performed well for the first season and was imo man of the match. His passing and use of his pace to run at defenders were excellent and just what we need more of from our wide players. Hopefully he can keep this decent form going now. Finnan and Riise have shown today that they deserve to be our first choice full backs. Both were solid in defence and were up and down the flanks all day getting balls into the box. Lets hope we can build on this decent result
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

Pretty hard faught win. Luis Garcia did play well, as did Finnan who was really solid and looked good going forward. Morientes had a good game too, but he just seem's too slow to react all the time, I think he's still in the frame of mind he used in Spain where everything is slower paced. Gerrard to me seemed very down or something today, he never really got going and didn't show is usual drive, he didn't play badly but he was in slow mo. I felt sorry for Cisse, he never really got the kind of ball's he need's, he broke down the wing a few time's today and crossed some absolutely superb ball's into the box, but no one got on the end of them. All round I think we done good today and the win will give much needed confidence.
