Do you blame the bullet ? blame the rifle ? blame the trigger ? or do you blame the guy on the trigger ?

Otherwise you can always blame the target !

What about the ballistics and the sight? Come to think about it, what about the guy who sold the bullets and the guy that made the gun? What about the grip on the gun, if this is faulty, then how can he fire a good shot?  :p

Leon
Without the tradition, without the 60s,70s,80s, there would be no LFC as we know it. If you don't look back you have no datum to judge your present position by.  It will take Chelsea years to get what we already have, you cannot buy it and it is that bond which keeps the fabric of "LFC" together.
If you don't like living in the shadows move into the light.

I`ve grown up supporting the reds all my life and we are as bad as we have ever been, even during the soumess years!! :help
I`m fed up with hearing transition period we are nothing but a team of overpaid underperforming shirkers. yes we have jamie,Stevie and sami ,these players do seem to work hard but for god sake we bought zenden because he played well against us once.does that mean we will be snapping up the crystal palace team in January.Kewell is a liability and a complete waste of space. We are stuck with him cos no one else is even remotely likely to want to sign him.
it is also completely unfair to slate crouch because he is not fashionable because he tries hard but when he has morientes (thats has been for short) as a strike partner god help him.Mark my words there will be no transition period we will get steadily worse until benitez will be shipped off from where he came and all his little spaniards can p**s off with him.

i havent been on here for a bit, so dunno what u lot are saying, but
1: crouch shouldnt be playing
2: rafa has to admit to making mistakes
3: things are not looking at all at the moment
4: we'll probably win the champions league but be closer to relegation than top 4!!!!
5: the blackpool thing did make me laugh
6: we are not a good football team at the moment, its depressing wathing us play
7: i'll watch us play every chance i get
8: sometiems when i watch us i want to cry

as for 15 years of mismanagement dneeding to be undone, thats a kop-out. rafa has brought the players that are in the team and  he is making the decisions. we need some sort of liverpool based backroom staff upgrade. the passion doesnt seem to be there when it comes to the league.
kewell is trying if u ask me but hes trying almost too hard. there needs some stability. cisse needs to play every chance possible and alonso needs to get back into gear.

apart from that, tis all rosy.

Can't agree with that on his perfomance last night and so far this season.

He looks totally out of his depth, and has zero confidence.  He's getting booed becuase the away fans know it will get to him.  He looks afraid of his own shadow.  I'm more likely to score then he is.

Last night was a horrible, uninspired, unimaginitive performance whichever way you look at it, and two games in a row now, an average side has showed us how to keep the ball, and take chances.

Back to basics springs to mind.

4-4-2
Same team every week in the prem (injuries permitting)

Settled back four... Finnan, Carra, Sami, Warnock
Midfield                  Garcia  Alonso  Gerard  Risse
Forwards                      Cisse   Morientes

Give that 10 games and see what happens

Rotate in the CL as that is working!  It is NOT working in the prem.

We're having a tough time, and maybe two wins on the bounce in the prem will make all the difference.....but two wins in a row looks very unlikely right now.

Sacking Rafa is a joke at this stage, but let's be honest if we had not won the CL last year, the cries for his head would be very loud by now.

Now is the time for stong hearts and clear minds from players and fans alike.

I like it but one suggestion morientes out and either sinama or mellor in

The club's history is a huge burden. Souness messed everything up, the burden of history weighed heavily on Roy Evans (being, in effect, the last bootroom member) and it absolutely strangled Gerard Houllier. The weight of history and the pressure of being a huge, historical club nearly drove Houllier to ruin.

We might as well forget about the past. So what if the current team is not fit to lick the boots of previous sides. We can't throw our toys out of the pram and say "Shankly would turn in his grave". There is no magic wand to make everything better. What good does all of this do?

The past is the past, the present is the present. Benitez has a lot of problems to address, some of his own making, most of his predecessors and that of the club hierachy. He is just as likely to fail as he is to succeed, but his credentials to succeed in the job are as good as anybody's. He has already delivered the biggest prize of all, and this, for me, buys him a lot of time. This is a long term project, and it will take a while.

Absolutely correct. Souness was the clubs undoing. To be honest, at the time I realised what he was doing was bad, but I had no idea the repurcussions would be what they've turned out to be

I know that everyone is pi$$ed off about the result and the performance and rightly so. However, it is not the time to be coming out with comments like "the Rafalution has gone tits up". I'm not going to make excuses for Rafa, what I would say though is that he gave players a chance to prove themselves last night and he was let down big time. Whitbread was found out big time on both goals, Warnock was sloppy, Hamann was nowhere and Potter is doing well to still be at the club. I don't think he will ever bring anything to the first team.

Also we had enough chances to comfortably win the game, especially in the first half, and it is disapointing that we didn't take them. Benitez is a top manager and his track record backs that up. I do believe that he will turn this around and get us going. We stuck behind Houllier and Evans after far worse results than that one last night and we need to do the same with Rafa.

i think weve only scored 6 goals since the season started

In 31 games so far, weve won 11, lost 13, drawn 7. Scored 28 goals and conceeded 35 goals. Yes folks these stats are from judge, not AB  :eyebrow

That doesnt make for good reading   :(

Those figures highlight the major problem at the moment, we are losing so many goals. If we were tighter at the back, the situation would look a lot different.

I am not defending any of the players who aren't trying hard enough, or those that don't score. But in comparison to previous seasons, the difference is the leaky defence.
