Has anyone heard of this guy??

Liverpool are believed to have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the chase for highly-rated Israeli international Yossi Benayoun.
The 23-year-old is Santander's prized asset and they have already resisted overtures from the likes of Spurs.

Benayoun has been in great form for Racing this season and has grabbed seven goals from his attacking midfield role.

Liverpool are thought to have scouted Benayoun over the last few weeks and are understood to have been very impressed with what they have seen.

Some reports claim that The Reds are on the brink of sealing a deal, but that seems to be somewhat premature.

His England agent Barry Silkman told skysports.com that that there was no concrete offer.

"Liverpool have not approached Santander and have not talked with us," Silkman said.

Benayoun is known to be keen on a move to England, and the news of Liverpool's interest is almost certain to appeal.

Racing are thought to want more than £10 million for the Israel midfielder, but neither Liverpool or Tottenham would be prepared to pay that.

However, the Spanish side could even agree to a season-long loan deal with an option to a permanent deal.

If we questioned each and every player Liverpool was linked with then we would be here till the cows come home.

Dont fret over him, we wont sign him anyway, he isnt french or senagalese..........................

Nobody had heard of Tottenham's central defender Goran Bunjevcevic before they signed him, who comes from the same part of the world as the player mentioned in the first post of this thread. He turned out to be o.k though!

Bunjevic (sic) played about 11 games for Spurs....I think he is Serbian, now plays on loan for Bastia, I think.

Liverpool are always linked to continental players. There's nothing in it other than their agent trying to draw attention to them.

When will people ever learn?

Shanklygates.co.uk do a thing where they compile a list of players reported in the papers to be linked with Liverpool. Last summer they came up with more than 200 players linked with Liverpool in the media over the summer months.

In the end we signed only two players, Kewell and Finnan, so the odds of someone signing going on a newspaper report is 1%.

I think we could do with an Israeli, at least when we conceded a free kick he'd know how to build a wall.

Israel's building a great big Berlin-Wall effort across the country to keep the Palestinians out. Hence they're good at building a defensive wall...    :)
