Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Thierry Henry career stats
Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has been ruled out of the club's tough Easter programme with a hamstring injury.
Henry, who has scored 31 goals so far in a prolific season, picked up the injury in the Gunners' Champions League defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday.

Arsenal have a four-point lead in the Premiership and play Liverpool on Friday followed by Newcastle on Sunday.

"He will be out for the weekend but it's difficult to say for how long after that," said boss Arsene Wenger.

Dennis Bergkamp could be called on to partner Jose Antonio Reyes up front for Arsenal, while long-term injury victim Sylvain Wiltord is also nearing full fitness.

The Gunners have seven Premiership matches left to play, with Leeds, Spurs, Birmingham, Fulham and Leicester all on the horizon.

We are capable of getting a result whoever plays in there team. This is a major blow for them and will boost our teams confidence going into the match. Finally things are starting to look up, now is a good time to play Arsenal, lets hope we can get at least a point.

However.... If we do lose, don't be so quick to jump on the managers back, we are talking about one of the best sides in Europe here away. At home i was p#ssed off we didn't win, this is one of the games at the start of the season you look at and think u'll be lucky to get n e thing from.

Arsenal don't have 10 world class players.

They have two world class players and two that can produce world class performances on there day in Campbell and Pires.

One of there world class players isn't playing. Both of ours are.

If we get beaten by a better side, fine. If, on the other hand, we lose it due to dodgy tactics and strange team selection then it's not necessarily fine. In that case somebody has to stand up and be counted.

There was and still is an air of arrogance about Arsenal. I remember them playing in Belfast against local team Glentoran (European cup early round) just after their double season in the 70's. the strutted around the pitch as though they were too good to even be there, having beaten their humble opponents easily in London. It was great to see the Glens beat them 1-0, and equally satisfying to see Chelsea bring them down a peg or two. Henry and Vieira are superb players, but they display an arrogance which is condescending to all other players and I hope Chelsea catch them in the Prem too.

As long as its not the scum who win the prem then I'm not arsed. It would be good for Ranieri's sake for Chelsea to win, though - I like the guy.

The game isn't on tv? for f##k sakes none of the Liverpool games are ever on tv are they!
But besides that, I think we'll win, Arsenal will have less confidence and these two games lost will have a snowball effect.
2-0 to Liverpool :)
