Cisse,morro and crouch - Couldn't hit a barn door!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Although Cisse may never become the 14 million pound player we bought him for, I'd be disappointed to see him sold tbh. He gives us a different option up front, and is always a threat with his pace and power.

Crouch is another guy who is a good option, and offers something different.

Morientes as I said baove is the most technically gifted player we have up front, and with Sinama laos, we have a strong group of strikers. The main issue that needs addressing is the wide areas, as has been mentioned by pretty much everybody here at one point or another.

If we were to sign say Joaquin or Simao (both would be nice in an ideal world, but we don't have the funds for that), and Kewell coudl hit form then I think Rafa's preferred formation of 4-5-1 would be very effective, as we would be a strong attacking threat and also a sound defensive unit.

This team below is looking quite good to me.

                                   Reina

Finnan           Carra           Sami              Warnock/Riise

Joaquin                 Momo        Xabi             Kewell

                              Gerrard

                      Morientes/Crouch/Djib

Also Garcia could be brought in for Momo, which gives a more attacking 4-5-1.

Fair call.

I think he will be very effective for us when we play 4-5-1 in Europe though, as the Cl games should suit him a lot more due to the slower nature of the game allowing more time on the ball, which should see a technically gifted player like himself flourish. He has said himself that the pace and physicality of the league is not suited to him, and I hope he can overcome these issues, as a fully firing Morientes is one hell of a player.

I think we'll see the best of him in Europe though, as opposed to the league.

I doubt very much that Diouf and Cisse have similar attitudes  :no

I think they do they are very alike. They both have big egos, why else wouldn't rafa want him in the team and has not given him his chance apart from yesterday. They are both lazy when it comes to training from whats been said and both expect to be in the team with this selfish attitude they both posess. Diouf went out the door and i feel cisse won't be far behind him.

morientes relies on great wing play ,at madrid and monaco and the spanish national team he had this in abundance with figo, routon, solari vicente  and joaquin but at anfield we have not got one decent winger to supply quality balls into the box that he thrives on,once we get the wingers in either january or the offseason that is when you will see the real morientes

Give Cisse and Morientes a longer run in the first XI and I'm fairly confident they will produce the goods (Crouch made us looked too one dimensional) Afterall they don't play for France and Spain for no reason...have faith

I'm not on your backs or liverpools backs, all i'm doing is pointing out the problems with this team. Yes we got three points but come on this was a real poor performance, against a team that had come for a point. This meant we had to take the game by the horns and attack, lets not forget we were at home and the empysis is on us, we got out of jail as 0-0 was wrote all over this bore game. Other teams will do the same come to anfield and get players behind the ball and its up to us to break them down. We need to be more clinical and more attack minded but somehow its not happening, for whatever reason not enough quality is my choice, and not wanting to concede at the other end. Recipe for success don't think so.

how can u call that a poor performance ????? we wud hav won by 3-4 goals if it hadnt been 4 moro....not that i blame .... it'll take time 2 get back that scoring touch

if this was a squad of greats i wud hav understood rafa not playing cisse..but with the current squad cisse deserves a starting place i feel, he always causes defenders trouble with his pace and power and gets us a goal almost everytime he starts add to that he is short on confidence.......when that is back he will be deadlier......guy roux has hit the nail on the head 4 me. wat abt u guys ??

Redsince 2001 have you seen anything of the game yesterday, just because we could have won by 3 goals doesn't make it a great performance. The game was poor we missed a few chances and got out of jail with a goal that looked like was never going to come. But i will take it and thankgod its three points, but watch the whole game and you will realise that we were poor not the highlights.Onwards and upwards.

Crouch has got the Liverpool disease, just like most of the other players who arrive for big money.I dont know what it is,maybe they are too pampered,or maybe they think they dont have to try. After all they have just signed new contracts worth a lot of dosh. They see players like Kewell ponceing about just collecting the money and nobody at the club seems bothered.Remember Redknapp, just another sick note on legs. When they rest Gerrard because the poor boy is tired after a couple of games it sends out the wrong message to the rest.Crazy would be turning in his grave if he knew. You need 11 players out there not 5 or 6 and the rest made up of :censored:

I can simply say Ciise started and scored. Start him more often he will score more often. Thats it. He needs to start.

In the contrast, Crouch has been starting and never scored... to all Ciise doubters start him and you will see more goals.

I really cannot understand how transfer speculatoin should have even a impact on the way a player is performing. They are professionals and should act that way. I am behiend Cisse 100%, he has not been playing well but i am still behiend him, he needs to concentrate in training and earn his place.
The bottom line is support him, but dont make up bullsh!t excuses for why he has not been performing.

Also give Morientes a chance, he was only on for 10 minutes, sure he should have scored, but i am looking forward to the Anderlecht game. 2 Assists from Kewell, goal for Morri and one for Momo!
