The problem is though, these two went through transitional periods in a league they had been playing for most their career.
Morientes is clearly out of form, while still adapting to the lifestyle changes and the differences of English football. Were he playing in Spain, I'd be pretty sure he'd get back to form, but will he ever reprodcue his glorious days at Madrid at Monaco with us? I'm not too sure.
I'm not doubting his ability, as he is a quality player, in fact he is the most talented striker we have in terms of technical ability, but I'm unsure whether he'll ever be a major success for us. Perhaps if we can sign some quality wide players he will become a major asset.
