What happened fowler - Peeked so young

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Remember when Fowler broke onto the seen with an ageing Rushie next to him, he was banging in goals everywhere for about 5 years. He had a couple of injuries but never looked the same player.

He runs around but never looks like scoring (he might get about 10 this year).

Was it the nose plaster? he went sh##e once he started with that cr#p, plus he looked an idiot.

he was such a great player, as a left footer I think he could have played with owen, don't need height if play it on the ground (Henry never scores headers).

I think he's sale was the only good business Houllier did, you'd never get £11m for him now.

Was it the injuries, bad lifestyle, loss of hunger?

Well are you going to tell me or is it a secret. I know he had injuries and there were rumours about his lifestyle (I remember after he sniffed the line in the Everton game that Houllier said it had nothing to do with the drug rumours but was something they "practiced" in training-wouldn't surprise me.

Big Niall: didn't you just start a similar thread on Fowler a few days ago?

Why don't you simply resurrect your "old" thread as there are too many threads going around on the same topic?

Fowler went sh*t cos everyone around him was playing sh*t or was it because of the old snorting training routine with houllier.

Fowler could, and should, have been a true Anfield legend. The reason he didn't achieve the levels he should have reached has everything to do with him and an attitude that players can do what ever they want five nights a week and still produce on saturday. They can't!!!

Sometimes a headstrong player needs the right manager to keep them on the rails and get the best out of them.Something we haven't had for a long time :(

Fowler was immature and stupid. His expensive cars and wild nighlife suddenly became more important than his football. Also do not forget; at the time Fowler were banging goals english football was a joke. For instance England failed to qualify for WC 1994, and british clubs had big troubles getting past even the first stage in european competitions. Fowler also never performed well for the national team. International superstars that used to go to Italy to play are now willing to play in England. It is not an english league anymore, it is international and only the very best will succeed. Foreign trainers and managers have also introduced new training metods and playing styles. Most teams play continental slyle football and frequent pub visits have been banned. Nothing has happened to Fowler, he is just not good enough anymore.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.

Fowler has just had a lot of bad luck with injuries, I dont think he will ever be the same player as he was a few seasons back, probably never play for England again but he is making a comeback at Manchester City at the moment

Fowler epitomised the "spice boys" era (in everything other than the looks department) and blew it by partying and generally not being overly professional. Injuries, too, made things worse. Roy Evans wasn't a strong enough manager to stop the spice boys boll##ks and saw one of the best talents in English football go to waste.

Robbie was absolutely f##king awesome for us so will always be GOD but imagine what he could've achieved had he stayed fit & off the ale?
