This is the problem as Manhattan sees it.

We didn't sign Michael Owen using the logic that he was too expensive AND because we already had six strikers.

Since then, we've sold Baros.

Now the rumours concern Cisse departing.

Which leaves Morientes who thus far has not impressed.

Crouch, who needs service to get the goals.

Luis Garcia who is not going to get us 15-20 goals a year.

And Pongolle who is still young.

The striker situation needs serious thought.

I can understand your putting the blame on Cisse's impatience. I can't understand the reasons that lead you NOT to put the blame on Rafa's tactical rigidity if not stubbornness. However great a manager Benitez may be, everyone should admit that his treatment of Cisse's situation is a complete disaster, both for the club and for the player.

I think that Rafa is doing the same with few other players ( and I`m not saying only about Dudek ) Pitty couse poor style of game it`s not Cisse`s foult but midfielders - that`s my opinion.
But Cisses`s situation is similar to Milan Baros... dont You think the same?

Too bad Liverpool FC are not able to give Cisse the fair treatment he deserves.

Agree with that.

never mind liverpool giving cisse the treatment he deserves,he should be repaying us for how the club and fans supported him when he was injured. obviously rafa doesnt rate him at the moment, but things change very quickly in football. personally i dont rate him,he doesnt have the raw talent IMO,he seems to really only have pace and a powerful strike,he doesnt seem to have the footballing brain or the technique....at the end of the day he shouldnt be moaning to the press coz its not going to help him or the club so he should keep his trap shut and prove himself when he gets his chance, which he will get

I do feel sorry for the guy after what he has been through and I feel he hasnt had a fair crack at the whip.He hasnt had a long enough run in the team to show if he is capable of holding down the position.

On the other hand and from what I have seen from him he seems far from the finished article as a striker. He does have pace and can pack a shot but like everybody else says he has poor technique he has a very poor touch for a proffesional footballer ,and doesnt seem switched on in terms of a footballing brain.

Its a shame because I prefer his style as a strker compared to Nando or Crouch Benitez doesnt though .

I wish we had signed Anelka when Houllier was incharge :(

of course I don't understand why the Boss is not picking him, for me he should be up there with Crouch,  but i was listening to an interview on the radio with our very own supersub, David Fairclough, in which he likened his own experience to Cisse's, the furstatrations etc, but.. crucialy he said you take up the issues in the safety of the 'bootroom' or whatever they call it now.. Not in full view of the media. Liverpool FC pay his wage and he is bound through duty to be loyal to them and there interests until a time , he no longer employed them.

His comments are shocking to me.. how can he sit there and talk like that, what does he now expect from Benitez.. a pat on the back, or a place in the reserves.  Benitez is not one to mess with .. :no

I've heard that he's pretty lazy during training, and even Garcia has said that he's the laziest LFC player when they train

Just to add about Cisse, His comments have been blasted by most on here but I dont see much of difference from what he said and Michael Owen said at madrid. They both said they would prefer to stay but only if they were playing reguarly becuase they both want to be ready for the World Cup. So if ive missed something please somebody show me. And please dont tell me Owen was on the bench for a year and didnt moan because the way they have been treated is different.

Yeah but that shows that Cisse is just acting as any player does in the same situation.
