Who is the best - Best club manager

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I don't think I'm being too harsh on Ferguson Stu.

He's a brilliant manager, but to be in the absolute elite he should have a better record in the Champions League.

Man UTD have been in it every season since 1994 and they have only won it once, despite being the richest club in the world. If he was as good as Paisley or Clough he would have won it again.

He could still do it before his time runs out at Old Trafford and I wouldn't put my house against it, but its looking unlikely at this stage.

I'm sure Gooners would mention Herbert Chapman, brought football into the modern age.

I think Busby is over-rated, 1 Euro cup and a couple of leagues.

How about Roy Evans-dominated the fair play league, as Barnes, Rednapp & co never tackled.

I know Shankley built Liverpool but I think he lacks the European success.

Who was the Ajax manager that came up with total football? 3 Euro cups in a row aint bad for  a small club with no tradition of football (at that time obviously)

I think it is a bit unrealistic to compare past with present. The goalposts have moved considerably since the last time we won the league let alone when Paisley, Shankly et al were managers.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

I hate to say this guys, but my vote goes to Fergie. Don't forget that before manure, he was at Aberdeen and managed to actually break the Old Firm dominance and took Aberdeen to winning the Cup Winners' Cup.
Although the Scottish League really lacks depth with onlly 2 teams able to win trophies year in and year out regularly, to break their dominance is an achievement.
Also, he repeated that at Manure, although it took him a long time to do so.
