Who should we buy in the summer

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Rimetto » Tue Apr 06, 2004 8:20 am

After watchin Leeds V Leicester lastnight i couldn't help thinking how good Alan Smith would be for us. He has the passion that we need to often Gerrard is left to chase and try and lift the team all on his own.

Also lastnight nearly everytime the ball was played up to him it actually got controlled and held up not like heskey who has the touch of a rapists. I know heskey had a good game the weekend but how long will we have to wait until the next one?

I think he'd also be good for kewell who i think is an excellent player but hasn't really found the form that he had for leeds  ( but i'm sure it won't be long ).

What does everyone think about Hasselbank? Just imagine the team

Kirkland

Carragher         Hypia   Henchoz      Riise

                  Hamann         Gerrard

     Smith                                            Kewell

                   Owen            Hasselbank

Please let me know what you think. The front 4 could all inter change or even Owen, Smith and Kewell all play-off hasselbank.

I'd like to see Smith in a red shirt but Leeds will stay up and smith will stay. I think Viduka is the one going to leave Leeds.

I'd like to see us make a double swoop for Dawson and Reid at forest. Not Proven at top level but Dawson is a pacey CB and Reid is already an international.

I'm not that big a fan of Alan Smith. He is a great fighter and has some good technical ability but he is still immature and picks up too many yellow cards. Also, I cannot see how he would add an extra dimension to our play if he plays at right midfield as that is simply not his natural position.

there's all this talk about Van der Vaat but he'll be off to Baraca ( the he's supported all his life ). I'd prefer to see Kezman. 19 goals in 23 games isn't a bad record in the Dutch league. He stands a better chance at making it that Ciise.
He's on CH5 on Thursday against Newcastle. See what you think.

Im a big fan of Kezman also would take him ahead of Cisse, Mendieta, what a loan signing by Boro, think next season he will be even better.  You hear that boro have got 1st option on him, think that was the same with Geremi though, a bigger club comes in-enough said.  For a useful squad player Muzzy at Leicester would be very useful for 750k.  Also read that Edwin VDS from fulham is on his way, would love to take him, sell Jerzy. The need for a centre back has been a matter of urgency for a while! ! !   IMO

Kezman
Mendieta
Muzzy
Edwin

Would be very good additions.

Mendietta is a class player. He's slowly getting back to form. If Heskey is Boro bound we may be able to put pressure on them for us to get 1st refusal. ( cant see it really ).

Not to keen on Izzet though.

Van der sar is passed his best. ( still good but not good enough).

Dawson for CB but he's one for the future.

I'd also like to see Cheyrou get more games. I feel he's going to be class. ( my fingers are crossed )

I think the Medieta/Middlesboro/Lazio deal is watertight.

Even though he is still technically on loan they signed a deal in January which says he will complete his formal transfer in the summer, so unfortunately there's little anyone can do to upsurp it.

Tackling Middlesboro after the Ziege affair is certainly not advisable!

Mendieta would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool....its a pity.

Arejn Robben is the new Chelsea winger.

Van Der Vaart will probably leave Ajax in the summer. He has said he's like to go to Barcelona (I think he's half Spanish) but if Man UTD go for him, which I think they will, they will get him.

I can also see the Alan Smith to Newcastle move happening.

Van der vaat is a boy hood Barca fan, the only way I see him going to Man Yoo is the Nistleroy conection.
