This may be a case of deja vu for some of the old timers on here,but id offer the job to Martin O Neill if we fail to qualify.Keane obviously has no experience of management and O Leary is sh.ite.I cant even think of anyone else who might be remotely suitable for the job.

Martin O'neill would be a huge asset to any team!
Still think he'd prefer to continue in club football a while yet and maybe end his career at international level!
Get a feeling he wants that alcho's job at man u. :nod

Your probably right Barry.He`s still in demand at club level and the Irish job would be a comedown at this stage in his career.Your lad Sanchez is doing ok,any chance of him looking for a decent job down in Dublin

might be out of order but how would a R.C. manager go down at Windsor park especially one who has managed Celtic,and had a lot to say regarding Lenon.

I doubt Northern fans would have a problem with someone of O`Neills calibre,no matter what his religion.Gerry Adams looking for the job could be a different matter though.

I have a long memory as well mate.Last time England played in Dublin your boys kicked the sh.it out of several women and kids as well as smashing up the stadium and getting the match abandoned.We were winning as well.A few Argie flags in temple bar hardly compares,does it.

Ya, one of the worst examples of football violence ever. Mostly Chelsea and Millwall fans apparently.

I remember that match too,Ireland started really brightly , and i think Matt Le tissier was playin that night,then the trouble started -Game well and truly Over. Trouble seems to follow the chelsea fans wherever they go

Ireland were absolutely brutal on Saturday.

I know that this is hardly the best Irish team ever, but they still managed to put out eleven Premiership players.

There is something terribly wrong with the set up. Brian Kerr seems a nice man but he's lost the dressing room as far as I can see. The shape of the team were all wrong, all of the players looked nervous and there was no fight or spirit in them.

I can't see Ireland beating Switzerland, particularly given that they are missing Roy Keane and Damien Duff (both of whom are good enough, for example, to be regulars for England, given England's lack of a midfield holding player and a left sided winger). Even if they do beat Switzerland (a very big if) I can't see them getting through the play offs.

I was talking to somebody on Friday who said that the word within the FAI is that Martin O' Neill will definitely be approached about the job in November, unless Kerr does something dramatic and gets Ireland to the finals.

Ireland were poor against Cyprus, heart-in-mouth stuff at times.

Given was the only one who actually did himself justice.

Without Duff and Keane I can't see the boys winning against Switzerland.

Kerr has enough quality at his disposal to be getting better results in my opinion. If Ireland don't qualify I'd get rid of him. Not sure if O'Neill is the man to take the team forward, but I'm struggling to think of anyone else good enough who might fancy the job.
