Who is to blame? is it:
- Sky's saturated coverage of live and pay per view games? It's easier to watch at home, and cheaper .. but also creating a different breed of football supporter, not loyal to any particular club, but forming allegiances based on the fashionable side of the day.
- ticketing prices, which fluctuate depending on whose in town? but nevertheless on the whole pricing-out the traditional supporter - loyal till death and goin the match with dad, uncle, brother, grandad.. etc etc
- the millionaires who want to buy clubs to add to there empires, trophy chests and yachts. Amramovich is perhaps an extreme example of the direction the game has been going in, but even before the all seater stadia, the prawn sandwich brigade, the coporate suits and hospitality packages.. were upon us (very nice they are too) but totally against the grain of the working mans need for solice and congregation with fellow thinkers.. on a saturday afternoon - "that's my team and I'll support them thru thick and thin.. come rain or shine, with me soggy hot dog by me side .. oh and me lad or lass"
With all these trends setting in, where will the new supporters come from? from the coporate bods, perhaps we'll have virtual fans

Where will the future generations of die hard supporters come from, if the game prices it's most precious commodity .. its life blood, its twelfth man/woman out
