If Owen would have held out Madrid would have made his life hell because there is NO WAY Rafa was going to pay 16million for a player that was sold for (supposedly) 10million. Which is fair enough.

As he said, Madrid only spoke about the 16million which Newcastle had offered which made the deal impossible.

For you to sit there and talk about a Liverpool legend like that is a disgrace.

Owen is not a legend in my opinon. He shafted LFC (the club which made him) and left us for half his value. Why? Because he strung us along for 2 years over a contract and then demanded we sell him or he would leave for nothing.

Legends DON'T do that to their club.

Yes, very true indeed.

Madrid where basically holding him to ransome, they basically said to him, go to Newcastle who are offering MUCH more than Liverpool, or we force you to stay here and have another frustrating, heartbreaking year at Madrid.

Owen's not a weasel at all, he's a tremendous player and gave us everything when he was here at Liverpool, good luck to him at Newcastle but not against us.
