It just strikes me that with Chelsea beating all and sundry at a canter and the media constantly highlighting our lack of goals, and their hugely superior squad, we should by rights be big underdogs anytime we play them. The fact that we seem to be the only team who can compete with them at any level at all seems lost on the media. The fact that rafa seems to have Maureen in his back pocket tactically seems to be unnoticed. Bare in mind that since the semi-final Chelsea have bought Essien for shedloads, Wright-Phillips ditto and regained the services of Crespo who is World-class by any reckoning. Liverpool have been laughed at for procurring the services of Crouch for 7 million and have bought a new keeper for 8 million, (I'm not including Del Horno or Sissoko because they didn't figure last night. Nor Zenden because I don't think he counts on any level really).
Given all that, they should be absolute certainties to roll us over no problem. Whar happens? we get the better of them but is Rafa clever? Nah mate, it's a good result for Chelsea. Maybe if they sign Ronaldhino and Henri, and Gerrard is injured but we still get a result against them then Rafa might be held up as being slightly astute tactically.
