i very much doubt campbell will be getting his England place back, as much as i dislike chelsea Terry is quality, and we would love a centre back of that quality at Anfield. As for sundays match i think we should play pongolle from the start on the wing, if Rafa's gonna play Cisse it has to be upfront IMO, as he is completed wasted on the wing.

Personally i think we should try and play 4-4-2 at some point, maybe if were losing or in the next game we play with crouch and cisse upfront, personally i think they could be good together well at least we should try it a few times to see how it goes coz weve been woefully short of goals, and i think Crouch needs some one to feed of his hold up play.

Campbell is a player we tried to buy a few years back and I would love to have seen him in a Liverpool shirt.  Even at this age, he's as solid as Hypia and has the pace to match.

As for Sunday, i think this is where our season will recieve a kick start.  A victory over Chelski will lift confidence and i think this is where we shall start our season proper!

why did we play without any proper wingers on the CL match against Chelsea. I know JM didn't espect that. Tactically we manage to confuse them and control the game. But we couldn't score.

should we continue the same with this match? ???

We should try this.

                              reina
   Josemi            Carra      Hypia           Traore

   Finnan             Xabi       Sisoko         Riise

                     Gerrard    Ponggole.

I know this look weird. But hey we played Ciise on the Right Wing and Garcia on the left on the previous match. I know you guys not going to like it... :D

:no

Please tell me that formation is a joke! This is not Championship manager. Josemi............f.uck that, you must be crazy, sorry I'd rather Cisse on the right than have Finnan there and Josemi at RB, Duff/Robben, would tear him apart, he has no pace, very slow turning and on the back foot and has weak acceleration.

Dont get me started on the rest of that crazy formation. Hobbes you are a nutter!!!

hobbes our string-bean terrified them in the last game, yet you leave him out in your interesting line-up?

I will be happy if we perform just as well as we did in the last game and come away with a draw. What worries me is the form we showed in the EPL last season directly after having a smashing game in the CL. I know the arguement will be that in all competitions, we always played well against Chelsea and were unlucky to lose on several occasions, so should be the case on sunday. But i am remmebering some quite ordinary performances we had after european games last season, if this happens on sunday sh!tski will punish us and a lot of confidence will be lost.

If we spank them I will be delirious with happiness and probably get myself banned from a few CFC fourms.

I didnt see this post

Because we DONT HAVE ANY, is that not clear to you? The only close things are Riise and Zendead (please ???). And thats just ONE side, Mourinho didnt expect wingers, as we have none to offer. The inclusion of Hamann is what threw him.
I believe, that he believed he was pulling a sly one with Essien and we would not be ready for him,(he is like a carbon copy of Sissoko in reverse ie; attacks really well, but is very decent in defending too, whereas our MOMO is the other way round!)
Without Hamann, I think we would have been overrun by their midfield, as Xabi cant do it alone as SG looked off yesterday (again?).

The last game just gave us the confidence to beat them. There appeared to be plenty of doubts now on the Chelsea side and you can smell them through their forum. Can't wait for us to break their record this weekend.

in mourhino's mind he will be getting slightly exasperated as to the amount of times he has had to play us (including a team with his new 'galacticos' in it) and been found wanting....obviously the guy HAS plenty of options as well, but looking from rafa's perspective...psychologically HE will be gaining confidence from the fact that we have played them 6 times very recently, and each time we do play them, we GAIN knowledge... this with our LIMITED options. or at least look at this way, rafa benitez is better at making a silk purse out of a sows ear, than jose mourinho is at keeping his ideas from being ..nullified. who is the better at the finer details, the deftest craftsman here? well we all know that already. maybe on sunday jose mourinho will actually give his humble respect where it is so LONG overdue!

Sinama-Pongolle is three times the player.

i agree with you on this one stu. sinama pongolle would be ideal playing off crouch at this current moment in time. as well as crouch can play as a lone striker he needs some help up there.

Pongo has the ability to link up with Crouchy though and they both have the ability to make something.

I'd drop Cisse for Sinama.

So would i, although he hasnt really had a chance, every time i have watched Cisse his touch is that poor that attacks constantly break down.
Also his finishing is not good enough imo..the chance he had late at Birmingham when SG put him in with a brilliant pass, was shocking, he totally miskicked after letting it roll accross his body onto his favoured right foot.
Pongolle has looked lively, has a good touch, works harder and also links better with Crouch, they were great together first half at Betis.
I hope the lad gets his chance.
