I think Casillas is a wonderful keeper and along with Cech and Buffon, they are the best around. I have always thought that Cañizares is a bit overrated.

I have grave concerns about Reina and think his signing will turn out to be an expensive blunder, along with Morientes. In England I think it is vital that goalkeepers have excellent upper body strength, as they are required to collect a lot of balls while being challenged. Reina has flapped at more balls then he has collected since he has been here.

Also Sabre, are clubs reluctant to sell their best players to Real Madrid due to the rivalry? i.e. Real Betis, Real Sociedad

I've just watched that ar.se.hole maureenio spouting his drivel about tonights game;It astounds me how they allow this retard so much airtime on Sky to talk such sh*te.In all the games we have played Chelski in the last 12 months,I don't believe that t*thead has actually been there because he sees a different game to me everytime.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW AND TOMORROW IS JUST A DREAM AWAY.

I wouldn't want to stain this thread with topics that are not from this exciting L'pool - Chelski -- if you want I'll answer every question you have in the proper threads.

But quickly, and not accurately, depends on the zone, coast (i.e. far from Madrid) cities tend to have special hate to Madrid (Sevilla, Valencia, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Deportivo Coruña) and closer cities such as Valladolid, Zaragoza, Albacete, has better relationship and even have players that are on loan from Real Madrid. Another example, Alonso is a hero now, he came here, he'd be a Villain if he chose Madrid)

Troare looked a little shaky today, he always seems to have to recover from his own poor postioning and poor footing, and this makes him look better that he really is, as he causes the problem himself.

Was a little disapointed with Gerrard as I thought he would have a good game and have a real go at the Chelsea defence, he always seems as though he is playing within himself, is Rafa putting to many defensive restrictions on him?

overall im happy with that. solid for the most part, with the exception of garcia's hold up and distribution, we had more in the tank than chelsea. someone mentioned gerrard again, and after lampard put the reducer on him, im not surprised he looked a bit laboured, came good late on though.

xabi alonso bossed the middle of the park, so stevie really should be taking up more of his license to support the strikers better than he's doing, but to say its "the C factor still........" no i dont buy that.... i think its more of a "safe than sorry" approach with him.  and when (several) times we did attack them, this mentality became justified by the swift loss of possession, that is happening with garcia TOO often now.
i dont think gerrard really CAN put 100% faith in attack, while the ball is coming back the other way just as fast!

crouch looks better with each game...but at what? winning the long 'basketball' bomb? well, yeah hell win em all.
stand him in the 'D' and a world class finisher will thrive off him. so long as the striker in question isnt plonked on the right wing?  or isnt gifting possession straight back before peter crouch has had time to even get back on 2 legs.

thats all were short of, link up play and actual finishing! everywhere else tonight we AT LEAST matched.

decent result, excellent positives for sunday and on the whole we edged it.
:)

Just got back home now, I can't believe what I saw tonight, I've seen bad refs but this guy was terrible, how Carrvalio didn't get booked never mind sent off I just don't know and how someone didn't kick Drogba;s head in I dunno cos their a bunch of cheating c.unt

On a possitive note we absolutely battered them tonight and I hope that other teams took note that if you don't give Chelsea respects and get at them that they can be beaten! :)

Fingers crossed we preform like this on Sunday but nick a goal to take all 3 points

Tonight for 45 minutes (at least) we played the big boys of football off the park, there fuc*ing asses went tonight Fat frank the poor fat tw@t wouldnt go near the centenery stand with the abuse he got, once again we was robbed but we all know that, Alonso and Crouch were superb, Crouch stepped up a level tonight and with goals he will scare europe to death, with a better referee we would have had at least one pen but i dont want to get bogged down with that, tonight we proved we was good enough for this level and we deserve to be at the top level.

Another thing we the supporters was amazing tonight.

"Were was you in Istanbul" was a quality shout!!

Agreed Gary, we sang for 90 mins and the rent boys didn't sing once all night, we sh.it them up tonight and really got to them cos you could see it the way they were resorting in kicking chunks out of them, if was my first game this season and I was soooo impressed with Crouch, he looks good on TV but the lad was such a hand full and the 'best defence in the league' just couldn't handle him  :bowdown

Roll on Sunday  :buttrock

too right Paul, the most important thing is we have come out tonight on top, They rave on about how good they are but for the 3rd game on the bounce they havent come close to scoring and in the end they was shitting big time.

there support is embarassing, it really is, for the champions they dont sing and they are your typical stereotypical cockney cu*ts with a couple of St georges cross.

Benitez can take a hell of a lot from that game tonight and so can the palyers

Stevie Bottles it in big games. thats why.

No disrespect, but he looked wobbly all night, and With hamann playing stevie could have got forward more. no way would rafa have told him to sit back.
He doesnt seem like a confident lad at the best of times. even after the CL final he looked like he was gonna commit suicide! he wasnt exactly overjoyed!

That HAndball tho, stone wall penalty. ref is Fecking blind KNOB!

Even stevie wonder , wearing a blindfold and 5000 miles away in america could haveseen that was a pen.

knob.

It's like Rafa said, against big teams the little details make the difference and the things like Carvahlo kicking people off the ball and consistantly fouling Crouch but didn't get even a yellow, Gallas handling the ball and Ferrera pulling Garcia back are factors that change a game but the ref did NOTHING about any of them, when a game is as close as this you rely on a ref to do his JOB properly and tonight he didn't, if I don't do my job properly then I'd get the chop when it's never the case with refs and they get away with murder time and time again

Well I think that tonight provided concrete proof we are more than a match for the Sh*tski brigade. We absolutely dominated them from start to finish, with the exception of 15 minutes in the first half. We should have had at least 2 penalties, one was as clear as fecking thin air. I may be accused of being a consiracy theorist, but how can so many decisions go against us vs one particular team without thoughts of pay-offs and back-handers running through our minds. The ref had a Sh*tski  shirt on underneath his jersey, I'm sure of it. He was so sh*te, a corpse could've done a better job. Carvalho (or c*nt) really needs a good hiding. How he got away with the fouls on Crouch with just a yellow I'll never know. Fat Frank spent most of the match systematically trying to crock our players, and Makalele is one of the dirtiest b*stards ever to enter a football stadium. How many times did the fecker try and get cards dished out to our lads. What a complete bunch of turds.

Nice to hear JC say something regarding Sh*tski's whining about the semi goal. I especially liked the "maybe they'll have more respect in future" bit. Somehow I doubt it though.

Anyhow, we ar*e-holed them tonight, they had 4 centre backs on at the end, and were basically soiling themselves. But for the refs total incompetance, we'd have been 3/4-0 up. But thats what money gets you. Fecking barstards.
