I agree completely about Reina, the guy hasnt convinced me at all, and I am worried about him.

And please don't give me this rubbish about him being a good shot stopper, isnt every goalkeeper? Reina's decsion making and catching has been poor so far, the one postive is that he seems to be very good on his feet and reading the direction when it comes to freekicks.

But he must be given time to work on his communication with the defence, I can imagine that his English isnt the best. But overall I'm not convinced and think his tranfer will turn out to be a mistake.

It would be crying shame if it did turn out to be a mistake.

What is it with us and goalkeepers though? we haven't really had a good one since Clemence.

I hope you're wrong about Reina, but if you aren't we still have Scotty Carson, who IMO could well do the business.

All agreed Reina hasnt had the best of starts but he hasnt had the worst and hes 22 or 23 for fu*ks sake, keepers are no where near at there peak at this age and everyone knows that, He will defo get better and he has all the signs of being a top class keeper, it will be a rough ride with him from time to time but i have no doubt he will become a great goalkeeper.............As for Lawrenson he was placed on this planet for the sole perpose of winding me up! Him, Trevor Francis, Alan Smith, Garth Crooks and David Pleat and Jonathan "oh my god Villa have scored oh no oh no how could they how fu.cking dare you score past my beloved chelsea you w*nkers Jeeez make a note people someone has scored past chelsea i think im going to die" Pearce. Should be fuc*ed right off form having jobs in football they are woeful pundits and disgraceful commentators and anyone who heard Jonathan Peraces reaction on MOTD to Villas goal will understand, It was like Luke Moore had Shat on his own Grandmas door step, Or as the Gay fella says on Catherine Tate........How very dare you!!!!

Disagree on Carson. From what i've seen he just looks another average premiership keeper.

Nowhere near what Paul Robinson was at the same age.

I slightly disagree on Reina to be fair. I've had misgivings about his transfer from the first moment it was mentioned but I wouldn't be inclined to write him off after a couple of mistakes. Schmeicel, jeez how do you spell that? had a dodgy start and goalkeepers have to adapt to our game just the same as outfield players.
My main beef about him is the size of the fee. For that sort of money you should be getting a world-class finished article which I don't think he is. I'm no goalkeeping expert by any means but certain aspects of his play have impressed me so I'd be for giving the fella a chance TBH. realistically, given the fee it's very unlikely that he'd be dropped anyhow so barring a run of calamities we'd all better get used to him.

He never mentions how his Liverpool team would always rely on kenny D.

I think it's safe to say that the jury is still out on Reina. But I think it is a bit too early for people to start critisising him.
He was at fault for the goals on saturday, but after all, these were the first prem goals he has conceded.
We've always got Carson to fall back on if Reina isn't up to it. This young lad has impressed me a lot in the games he has played in.

I like many others am loathed to slag off former members of great liverpool teams. However Lawrenson is undoubtably a :censored:! He is a paid up member of the "my team was the greatest, I must devalue the achievments of all inferior Liverpool teams" brigade.

The reason why escapes me but the likes of Lawro and Ray Houghton on talksport seem to take great pleasure in gloating about how great they were when compared to recent liverpool players. They don't seem to support the team at all!! What's all that about!! I feel honured to be a mere supporter of such a great club let alone a player. These men have heard the KOP chant they're name on many an occasion, do they feel no bond with LFC? If not, why not?? These men could do with watching how important LFC's successes are to the likes of Rushie, Aldo and The King. Maybe they could learn a thing or two about staying loyal to the hand that used to feed them!!

That's enough of my ranting, incidentally I think our best keeper is currently working wonders at the Hawthorns. I for one hope to see him back (if injury free) before too long.

renia and carson will be top keepers in my mind they are both very young and have no way reached there peak yet, and as for fourth place chelsea are clear favs for first place but man scum are in a shambels at the moment and arsenal are not much better so 2nd place is there for the taking, thats all we can exspect for this season but next year we will really push for the championship.
