Right so because i can see that we need more classy additions before we can really challenge i am accepting mediocity?

I don't expect this CURRENT squad without additions to go beyond third place.

I dont think the squads to bad apart from a few obvious exceptions(Biscan, Traore) its the manager whos s##t!, lets face it Houllier would make zidane play badly. Someone like O'Neil would get the best out the players we have, and with a few quality additions would turn the reds into contenders again, i personally think we should get Malbranque and forsell, or maybe even Mendieta to partner Gerard? hes only on loan at Boro surely he'd join us over them

The funny thing about the idea of "buying big" is that it's actually some of the free transfers (Litmanen, McAllister, Babbel) and relatively cheap buys from the continent (Hyypia, Baros, Dudek, Riise) that've been GH's better signings for us.

It's when he hedges all his bets on someone like Diouf that his reputation with a cheque book turns to s##t though. That said, I'm sure Senegal must've had another guy called Diouf playing for them in the last World Cup, as I've sure as hell not seen him in a red shirt yet.

Am also a fan of Mendieta. Was surprised to see him at borough + he would have been useful with Hamman out and Murphy playing badly. He seems to have settled into the hustle bustle of the Premiership quite well + McClaren has played him out on the right (not his prefered centre role)for much of the season. He could be a possibility - Would certainly provide some creativity + he is not afraid to put his foot in.

Van Bommells is a good option, hes dutch international with plenty good experience might want a champions league team though. But we defenitly need some one to help gerard out in the middle of the pitch

van Bommel is a defensive midfield player.

We need a creative midfield player in the middle.

Cheyrou should be given a run of games with Steven Gerrard and Harry Kewell either side of him.

The lad has so much ability. For me he could become a superb playmaker and he'd get us alot of goals aswell. All he needs is a decent run in the middle and i think we'd be laughing.

i do not think houllier will go for big, proven players such as hasselbaink or kluivert. he will continue buying young 'potential'. so that he can continue using his ritual of excuses when the team is not performing.

alot of people are talking about us buying forsell, but what about his chelsea team mate gudjhonsen? hes an excellent player on his day and is blessed with superb touch and vision. hes not a regular for chelsea anymore so i could see us getting him for around 8m. I could see him in the bergkamp mould, supplying owen with quality passes and through balls as well as scoring a few himself.

Nar, Gudjonsen's not consistent enough. Good player, yes. Good enough to make a difference at LFC? No.

Why not just buy Zidane, Raul, Ronaldo, Kaka, Nesta, Viera and Henry and a hitman to shoot Biscan and Heskey(after getting massive insurance on them to pay for the others).

I reckon Alan Hanson hasn't put on weight and after wenger gives him a few stretching exercises he loves, we can play him (although Houllier would probably play him right back)

If all goes to s##t, and the club go bankrupt, we can just go into administration, shaft all the creditors, and come out smelling like Roses (War of the Roses-get it, sh##e Yorkshire club)

That's not the impression I get from most of your posts.

You'll see next season. Simple as that

The explanation ought to be interesting.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
