Cisse was fit enough to come off the bench for France and played 15 minutes against Ireland, and Crouch played 25 minutes for the reserves 8 days ago and has been in training since, so I presume both will be available.

Its good that we are blessed with quality CMs.... Yes gerrard looked below-par for england...but can you blame him ? He is just coming off an injury ....in fact i think he was rushed back too fast. Hope this does not come and bite us in the end.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gerrard started on the bench (remember Benitez is going to rest Gerrard on certain occasions). I know that this is an important game but if Gerrard is fucked he won't be much of a help. So it would be nice to start with Alonso/Sissoko or Alonso/Hamann.

See what people are saying about Gerrard on the bench but, whilst he may be tired, imagine the boost Spurs would get if he's not in the starting line up. Plus this is a big game - if we could get a win we would be well set up, and if we lose, Spurs will have more confidence of getting a CL spot at the end of the season. We can't go giving close rivals any helping hands now. Utd next week is also crucial - even more so. So if anyone needs a rest it should be in the Betis game in the week

Agreed.

But no one should be rested for the next 3 games, there all very cruical. They can evaluate what happens after that.

Resting players after 2 premership games sounds daft and they shouldn't be a pro player if there getting nakered all ready. £100,000 a week for 'resting'.

I understand that maybe at some stage key players should be rested but just not now. Maybe wen we are in the flow of things then maybe.

But if someone desperatly needs to be rested it should be Man U, Y you ask, its because its the toughest physically and the hardest game to win. I take tottenham mistake as an example, Midweek Spurs play and rest there main men Defoe, Davids and Carrick expected to get a win they drew, they then had chelsea on the weekend which the players where rested for and they lose. They could of easily had 3 points midweek and rested players, rather then 1 out of 6.

We need to treat the Man U game like any other. 3 points is 3 points whether you get it against Man U, Tottenham or Focking West Ham.

My 11 would be.

                    ---Reina---

Finnan      Carragher    Hypia     Warnock

                      Hamman

Luis Garcia    Gerrard Alonso           Riise

                       Crouch

I think Rafa might opt for

                    ---Reina---

Josemi      Carragher    Hypia     Warnock

Finnan     Alonso     Hamman      Zenden

               Crouch   Cisse

I wouldnt mind seein a 4-4-2 but i would prefere my 11 simple because spurs arnt weak in the center of the park with davids and carrick although both will sit, so i can understand if rafa plays 4-4-2

we would have to play very well to win and we can do it but we dont usually reach our potential against teams we should be able to beat in the league so im going to go for a 1-1 draw or maybe sneak a win 2-1

we don't really have the width needed to play 1 up-front. (unless gerrard is sacrificed to play on the right with garcia back to his support striker role).

bbc teletext says cisse & crouch up front, with rafa talking about having to adopt a different approach to away games this season in order to score more goals

hopefully we'll see a few more positive attcking line-ups this season, god knows we've got the quality to DESTROY half the teams in the premiership so it's aboiut time we started doing just that

today's game will be very tough though, spurs have come a long way under martin jol
