i am not sure of that...but i read somewhere that after rafa got crouch in jul, he mentioned that crouch & morientes were his 1st choice strike partners... (this even when baros was here).

Didn't think much of that then.........

i am sure. and if you didnt see the press conference at the time you can hear him saying it again on the season review dvd.

And anyway if Rafa wanted to get rid of Cisse he would have in the window just gone. He wants him there. He only said those things after the super cup becasue he was under preassure from RP and DM. Cisse wont go. Hes even got LFC tatooed !!!!! I dont know that 100% like ive seen him but i remember him saying that after he came back from injury if Liverpool got to the final and won and he played some part then he would get a tatoo, which i think shows he will fight through it. The newspapers are always going to manipulate a few quotes to stir something up and get a story. They have nothgin better to do, without the gossip stories they would fail to fill the back pages. Why do you think when the season is over there is always one or 2 huge stories that they pump up to last a few weeks. Last year it was Rio Ferdinand and Patrick Viera and this year it was Steven Gerrard and Patrick Viera again.

I'm sure if Liverpool were desperate to sell Cisse they would have accepted the bid from Tottenham, and Cisse always puts in 100% when he plays football but I ain't sure wether he is suited to the Premiership.

I think hes perfectly suited to the premiership. In some ways hes very similar to Henry int he way he runs at people and one touch pass. Statistics ahev shown on speed tests that he is faster that Henry. And given that he has already his 6 this season in total i would say that he has much more to offer.

i'm concern from the way Cisse being treated by Rafa.Rafa seems to prefer Morientes instead of him.i'm hoping that Morientes will repay Rafa's belief and the fans by scoring goals against Spurs.overall,i'm disappointed with the way things went for Morientes.

rafa can sell cisse for all that i care.....as long as he signs adriano......  :bowdown

this guy has to be the best striker in the world today.... He would be awesome as our lone striker.

guess real madrid will buy him next season though  :shifty

What worries me too is if Rafa does end up selling him: 1) He's not realistically going to get 14m for him, so we'll end up making a loss. 2) Who else is there in the world available for the same price as Cisse with the same potential to be great. For me he is the sort of exciting player liverpool have needed for too long and to get rid of him now would be foolish

If Benitez wanted to sell Cisse desperately[spelling?] he would had done so before the transfer market was closed. He would had also benched Cisse in the CL qualifiers to prevent him from being cup-tied.

He's stated after the end of last season that Cisse is a key player in his plans and now is backing Cisse to produce the goods and that transfer rumours will not effect Cisse.

I think Rafa was going to fund the Owen deal with the proceeds from Cisse, but because Newcastle like bidding like Chelsea do it neither transfers happened.

Thats what Cisse is upset about that he may not be thought of as highly by the manager as he is by the fans.

My estimation of Cisse has now gone down. It is not the Liverpool way to go whinging to the press.
If he has a problem, he should speak to the manager, or the chairman - not to the press!

This won't help Cisse's case, and like NiftyNeil said he should had spoken to the manager and not made this public. He's not really doing himself any favours.

i don't know dude....something is seriously wrong with the real madrid chairman.

1)He always wants to have the best strikers/strike force.
2)He does not mind what type of defence he has

i mean .....their attacking front is the best in the world. But their defence and defensive midfielders are not even class players to say the least....

Real madrid will not win the champions league if they continue this way  :buttrock ....good for us in a way. 1 less powerhouse to worry about.

If adriano continues this way, i can see them getting rid of baptista cheap and buying adriano for 50 million euros  :p

no wonder rafa did not want to go there......

Cisse should not have gone to the papers about this.

He should have asked to speak with Rafa and Rick Parry, aired his grievances, hear what they have to say and then draw a line under it.
