Cissé better than owen? - What do you think?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Speaking of which, Anyone ready the news of the world today. Apparently he gave an interview to them sayign he was unhapy about the rumors surrounding him and that his world cup chances will be limited if Rafa continues to play him on the wing. Just what is Rafa expecting from Cisse on the right? Not that im in a position to criticise RB but I really cant see how playing him on the right will bear more fruits that playing him up front as a natural striker.

The fact that it's comming from "News of the World" tell it's own story. Today on .tv Benitez claimed that transfer speculation will not distract Cisse from producing the goods.

Listen boy, I don't have to give you any examples. There are more than enough that have proved that you're a clueless tit. If you think that I'm the only one who thinks that, ask your fellow members and most likely they will give you the same response.

Now get lost.

In fairness Hus', I don't think even you would claim to be an expert on the tactical nuances contained within the game of association football. You do occasionally add something to the forum I'll give you that, more often than not in the role as agent provocateur but a technical genius you certainly aren't.
I too am reluctant however to trawl through page after page of history, taking into account your various changes of personna just to demonstrate the point. This doesn't of course mean I'm wrong, merely lazy again.
BTW, I see you got the Owen prediction correct and I'm glad I didn't take you up on your kind offer of a £1000 wager. There must have been a few moments during those last couple of days though when you thought you had called it wrong, it certainly looked like it.

I must confess that since my little lad has gotten into Dora the Explorer I too find myself able to slip into casual Spanish at the drop of a hat. Indeed I do believe that Dora is the chosen method of learning the tongue of the Armada favoured by David Beckham himself. Delicioso.

This question of whether Cisse is better than Owen or not seems to me to be missing the point somewhat. Surely the more pertinant poser is, is he better than Morientes? I've gone on record as saying that Morientes won't cut it for us in my opinion, yet Cisse seems not to be getting a fair crack of the whip.
It's probably fair to assume by now that Rafa wants his strikers to operate in a 4-5-1 with the front man playing with his back to goal and playing others in. Now while I accept that this in no way plays to Cisse's strengths, I think there is a case for reviewing the whole strategy.
Given our lack of quality in wide areas wouldn't it be more sensible to revert to a 4-4-2, even if it's only till Christmas? As an attacking force, we haven't got too much going for us right now and it just seems to me a criminal waste of Cisse's only outstanding atribute (pace obviously) to persist with a 4-5-1 and deploy him either wide right or on the bench. Even if we're going to sell the fella (though we'll get nowhere near the ridiculous 14 million Houllier paid for him) it makes sense to me to stick him in the side and let everyone see what he can do. We're hardly in Chelski's position where we can write off that kind of fee in a similar way that they did with Mutu. Stick him in and give him a go, that's what I say.

RTR I have noted your posts with interest. You are clearly a guy who takes his football seriously and is posession of no little knowledge on the subject. To your credit you have tried to rise above the traditional rivalry to make sensible points.
Rooney is for sure one of those guys who is quicker than he looks. FWIW I think most people on the forum think he is a fantastic footballer if a bit of a div on occasions.
However despite what some stats might say, to suggest he is quicker than Owen and god forbid Cisse, is laughable. A better player than Owen or Cisse? it's a no brainer much as it pains me to admit it. But faster? Give over. You'll be telling us that Darren Fletcher is a more accurate passer of a football than Xabi Alonso next.
